About your wardrobe and personal style

I'm back

... from Hong Kong. Trying to stay up another hour or two, in an attempt to combat jetlag. Will catch up on YLF and post more details tomorrow after I get some sleep, but for now will say this:

1. The Inc Ponte Knit pants are my new "go-to" traveling pants. They performed beautifully on the trip there - and back (essentially it took us 24 hours travel time each way). Warm and comfy as sweats, yet did not bag out at all! I will be duplicating for sure.

2. I did get a bespoke suit made!! More details tomorrow. (warning: it will be a long post!)

3. I can see exactly where Angie gets her style. :-)

4. Leggings and tunics were EVERYWHERE.

5. Other than #2, did not buy much else for myself. We did cruise a few malls and picked up xmas gifts (mostly souvenir stuff the girls will love). I did look a little at pearls too - but mostly just got overwhelmed!!

We had a wonderful time. Now I need to get my YLF dose and see what you've been up to....

Welcome back, Jennifer! Glad you had a fabulous time with hubby! Get over the jet lag and lets hear ALL about it. I hope you had killer food too.

(I’m chuffed to be perceived as having HK style :0))

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear all about the bespoke suit experience. Do you have photos to share?

Glad you are home safe...dying to see the suit:)

Shiny!!!! I'm SOOOOO excited to hear about your custom suit. It sounds so fun and getting a custom suit has been a dream of mine for years. Photos, please!

Angie, you absolutely have HK style! I couldn't help but smile because I saw your fashion principles in practice all over the place.

Laura, no photos of the bespoke suit yet... the reason why is part of the story! But you can be sure I'll take photos when I can....

Welcome home Shiny! Way to tease us about the custom suit with no pics...

It's too bad you couldn't do more shopping because I imagine Hong Kong must be heaven for petites.

Yay! I'm so excited you're back Shiny, and I can't wait to hear about the suit!

Welcome back Shiny! I am looking forward to hearing about your trip and your suit experience.

Maya, I don't mean to be a tease! But...more tomorrow. :-)

As for petite shopping heaven, I'm apparently an XL petite there.... I have more curves than the average Asian. Not a surprise to me at all... I'm just saying. :-)

For example, I bought cheongsam dresses at the Ladies' Market for my girls (both under 5'3") for xmas presents. After much consult (you can't try them on in the market), I bought a L and an XL. Once I got back to the hotel, I tried both on. The L fit me everywhere but the chest, which I couldn't button - however, I am sure it will fit my DD16 who's narrow on top. Whereas the XL fit me perfectly, which means it will fit my DD15, who's built like me, perfectly. It fit so perfectly, in fact, I went back the next day and bought one for myself!

Yay! I love vicarious travel. Welcome back.

I hope we were able to take some HK street style photos. I love that tunics and leggings were everywhere as I'm STILL working on getting that look down. Anyway, hope you can catch up on some needed sleep.

Shiny, my dad once bought me a dress from Hong Kong while he was there on business, and I was a medium even though I was under 100 pounds. But at least everything fits better vertically, right?

Glad you had a great time, Shiny! I am dripping with envy. Looking forward to the pictures and further details of the trip.

Yay, Shiny! Can't wait until you get some sleep and give us a long Hong Kong update.

Welcome home, Shiny. I'm waiting anxiously for your travel post. I so enjoyed Paris and Iceland posts. My father-in-law's family is from Hong Kong and I spent two months there in college. All of it together with even the suggestion of stories from your trip makes me want to head back - soon!

Shiny I'm glad you had a great time! It made me smile hearing you are a L in HK. I'm in China at the moment and having to squeeze into XL or XXLs in the few places they are available here. Not built for Westerners thats for sure!!!!
