I need more tops like this one!

I have scored on lots of great bottoms lately, but this is the only MOTG top I have. I have worn it every other day since I bought it! I'm trying to analyze *why* I like it so much so I can get more that tick the same boxes, without duplicating it exactly.

*natural fiber (rayon--I also like cotton, viscose, modal, tencel, linen, silk) if its:
*easy care (machine washable--I don't mind hanging to dry)
*knit (I don't mind wovens if I don't have to iron them, like the crinkle ones you twist)
*printed (prints just make me happy!)
*modern classic (style and print)
*modestly sleevless or cap-sleeves (layers under a sweater but okay without one)
*not too low or high cut (it's too hot to layer with a cami; crew necks are too high)
*drapey fabric (this works better than crisp fabric on my IT shoulders)
*sophisticated (no baby-doll styles, frills, or puffed sleeves, ties in the back)
*body skimming (not a lot of voloume around my midsection)
*the right length (tuckable into skirts, long enough for pants...but not as long as a tunic)
*goes with all my bottoms (white, faded and dark denim skirts, clams and skinnies)
*draping is good (asymetrical lines, knots or detail at the bust--nothing too rectangular)

Whew! Thanks for staying with me. I'd like to hit some more summer clearance sales. I've tried my usual haunts with little success: Marshall's, TJMaxx, Ross, Target, Kohl's and thrift stores. I'd like to spend around $10 per top if that is at all possible. Does anyone have ideas/links for styles/stores?

What brand is it? Have you tried looking for similar ones on eBay? I have a CAbi top that is similar, which you might find on eBay.

Have you looked at Nordstorm lately? Halogen has a bunch of tops in this style right now.

GGB, It's a Merona, from Target's clearance racks. The woman working the fitting room said it didn't come in any other colors...there was nothing else like it at the store.

Lisa, I'll check it out...I just assumed Nordstrom would be more expensive than $10/top, even on clearance. I hope I was wrong!

It really is a lovely top, Claire, and looks perfect on you. I'd love one, too.

What's great about it, from a MOTG perspective, is that it looks sophisticated but FEELS basically like wearing a T. It's as easy to wear, but looks about 300% better.

I wonder if someone here knows a store that stocks similar tops on a regular basis. You could probably take advantage of summer sales. Because you're in a warm climate you can wear a top like this much more of the year than many of us.

You're right, Suz. I was hoping there was a mass retailer that had bunches of these that I just didn't know about! The Halogen ones are nice, but many are dryclean, or "base layer recommended" (sheer) or manmade fabric.

The brands that cater to the easy-care crowd (Land's End/Sonoma) are often more about comfort than style and fit. Someone could make a lot of money if they would design tops that act/feel like a T-shirt but look nice (and are cheap, since we're dreaming).

I like that top too, Claire, and would like some like that (although I live in the UK, and we are coming into a season where sleeveless is a far off memory!).
