I got some new shades

I have been drooling over the Prada Baroque sunglasses ever since I became aware of their existence. But they are waaaay out of my price range. Especially since I have a habit of losing/breaking sunglasses. -_-

So needless to say when I stumbled across these babies for $10 it was love at first sight. <3 <3 <3

P.S. I know they make me look like a bug. I prefer to think they make me look like an awesome bug.

I think they're awesome. As long as you know they go by their own rules, which you apparently do...and I find they remind me of Iris Apfel's specs (which I mean as a compliment--like they're unusual, you're not being mindlessly trendy, etc etc.)

Funny that you mention 'bug'. That's exactly why I bought and returned at least 6 different pair of designer sunnies last summer -- it took just a day or two and I could see myself as a bug!

That's when I decided that you had to be young and cute to pull off the way-oversize sunnies. Or like you said: an awesome bug

MNSara - I don't think so Sara! I don't think you have to be young to rock these or the originals. I'm fairly sure Angie & Greg posted a pic of someone from NYFW who was wearing the real thing (the more embellished ones though, i'm too lazy to look them up right up) with an amazing trench coat and i don't *believe* she was all that young and i thought she rocked the look. Maybe it's just personal preference? With a combination of what style you prefer to see on your face shape? Anyways, i know you could rock some if you wanted to, but if no that's fine too!

aaaargh, I shouldn't post when I'm feeling tired. It's just a longwinded way of saying, well, you know (or think) they make you look like a bug (that's you saying this, not me), and that's still okay...many people would shy away from intentionally going for something that made them look like a bug, but you embrace it! So does that make any sense as to my intended meaning, that their bugginess creates their own standard of beauty?

If that still doesn't work, just accept that I think they're cool and a lot of fun!

Yes i do have a habit of embracing things that a lot of people do not like. Or find strange. Not only in fashion but with most everything else as well.

For example, I think bats are adorable.

People who are really cute can get away with pushing the envelope more It's kind of (very loosely) like something I read once that was funny--young people can wear thrift clothes and look so cute, while once you're over thirty it'll just make you look like a crazy bag lady LOL (I read it! Not my opinion!)

They do look great on you. If I saw them "alone" I wouldn't realize how cute/cool they could be when worn. I'm not very good at visualizing things, I'm afraid. And I had no idea what they were in Greg's pic; I'm so out of it.
