Huge dissapointment about "Lanky" jeans by Rich&Skinny

As some of you may know, I have been drooling over these jeans in "Butterfinger" wash for over a half a year now, but the $250 price tag has prevented me from getting them. I have been stocking them everywhere online, but whenever they would go on sale, they either didn't have the right wash or the right size, so I almost gave up. These are the jeans:

Somehow they popped back on the NM site about 10 days ago, right before NM trip, in my size, down to $170 plus extra 20% off, so I pounced on them. They have arrived while I was away and today I finally got them. I thought something look strange with them when unpacking them, but I realized what it was when I put them on:

The length! Someone probably hemmed them entire 4 " before returning them to NM before they've put them back on the site !!! I am so mad and disappointed. They obviously have to go back, and I'll have a lot to say to NM customer service tomorrow. They fit perfectly at both waist and hips, which happens so rarely to me.

I'd like to ask you to use CRS to rate their fit ( please pretend they are the PPL).
A local boutique still has them at full price, and I'd like to make sure I'm not crazy if I decide to do that. Do you think they are worth it? The only thing of comparable price I have ever bought is my Soia & Kyo wool coat. Even though almost all of my jeans are premium, they were all bought discounted and $100 is the max price I have payed so far for a pair of jeans.

They aren't PPL or anywhere close, but in some weird unexplainable way you seem to pull it off anyway!! Esp with the red shoes.

The fit is great. Despite the Non-PPL, the fit looks better on you than on the NM model.

But, the PPL... hmmm... since you live close to me... hmmm... maybe you could measure and let me know the size (waist, hips, thighs, length, rise etc) and if they fit me and my short legs I might buy them off of you?

Thank you all very much! Angie, I am sorry I have caused you such distress, it really wasn't my intention, blame NM for that, they are the ones who sent me such short jeans!

No worries, these are going back because of the length. I asked for CRS as to know whether to continue my obsessive stalking behavior or to quit. At this point, I think that they are probably not worth the full price, but I'll keep my eye on that boutique in case they happen to go on sale.

Shiny, the inseam is 29", I'll measure the rest in the morning and let you know, in case you really are interested in them. The legs are pretty wide.

Hmm, 29 inch is flat heel height for me. But I am still interested in measurements, if you have a moment to do so, particularly rise and waist, because they are really cute and different.

I don't mind wider legs, but ultimately I suspect I can't wear them because you have a much tinier waist than I do, but you have me curious. I tried on R&S brand jeans before (I think from Marshalls but I may be misrembering) and they were close to good fit for me.

I hope you have no trouble returning! I would still suggest stalking for these in longer length; they look nice on you.

Tanya, I think they look nice on you. I'd give them an 8. I don't think they're worth full price, but if you find them again go for it! Good luck with Norstrom customer service...maybe they will find some for you

Shiny, here are the measurements: inseam 29" (grr), front rise 10.5", back rise 15", the waist is 28" straight through and 28.75" following the waistband's curve,
the hips are 37" at the base of the zipper, the thighs are 32" at about 3" below the crotch point. They are size 27, and I was told that they run a size big. I am afraid that they might be too big for the tiny you. Oh, and the material is 72% cotton, 26 % lyocell and 2% something I can not read, probably stretch. Oh, and it looks that they can be let out about 1.5 , possibly double that - looks that the hem somebody made is double. I'll hold of from returning them for a time being. If these don't work out for you but you still want them, Nordies has them in a slightly different wash called "Rinse":

Dani, thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately I did not get them from Nordies, but from nNiman Marcus. I have never bought anything from them, so I don't know how's the customer service like, but hopefully they must take them back if they are 5" shorter than they are supposed to be!

Tanya, I'd give them an 8. You definitely have the figure to pull them off. They would work for a more professional smart casual, since they aren't so form fitting.

A size 27 isn't out of my ballpark, but nope, I don't think they will work for me. I certainly might be able to get away with a 29 inseam and the front rise sounds intriguing (I like higher rises), but the back rise is much to long because I have a terribly flat butt. Lucky you to have such curves!

I give them a 9. They show off your tiny waist and you look great in them. Personally, I don't know if I would pay $250 for a something that is a little trendy. But, on the other hand, you carry it well and they make a strong fashion statement.
