Hudson Collin Skinnies...on me!

Still trying to find skinnies that flatter...here's the latest contender...the first is a size 28. They feel great, which of course, means I'm supposed to size down. I have included pictures of that as well. I can only assure you that the 28 feels about a million percent more comfortable and I feel like a tube of toothpaste in the 27. I'm not sure I can wait "a couple hours" for it to stretch out.

Anyone NOT size down and regret it? Any experience with Hudson jeans?

There is a wash that is on sale (NAS), so I'd be tempted to try the 28s in them...my only hesitation is the darn triangle pockets...I think I'd only be wearing tunics with skinnies - will they show through too much??

In my experience Hudsons don't stretch out much. In fact, my never-dried 26s are significantly bigger than my 27s, which came from Ebay and had been thorugh the dryer, so if you feel them bagging out a trip to the laundry room might help. I have one pair I thought would stretch out, and... yeah, no. I don't have their skinnies but I have 7 pairs of their Signature Bootcut jeans. :0

the 28's look great on you! And I see no reason to have to cover your gorgeous figure with a tunic.
I guess you can always wear the 28's for a few hours and see what happens.

I guess I'm used to the look and comfy feel of jeggings. I have gap jeggings, they fit a lot slimmer. Are you against those? They might be nice if you are looking for a slimmer look without the constricting feel of jeans.

I don't know what you mean about the triangle pocket. Is there some weird back detail? I would not be down for that.

The triangle pockets do look weird with tunics (at least on my Hudsons), and I actually like them visible because they give me a more riveting rearside (I have none on my own)... Still can't see the photos, but I vote for comfort. When I buy jeans too tight, I avoid wearing them because of discomfort and muffin-top.

modgirl - here is a picture of the 28s from the rear...they have a triangle flap.

I think the pockets might be an issue, frankly. They look great, but I wonder if another brand with a flat pocket would be more versatile. Have you tried Joe's? I just bought the Joe's high-waisted skinny black pants on NAS and it's lovely.

I tried CoH Ava & Avedon skinnies, Joe's, Paige Premium and one brand I didn't recognize. These were the only ones that fit well.

I can't speak about the pockets, except to say that you can always have the flaps sewn down and the linings removed. (Or, depending on what the inside looks like, you could have the flap taken off completely and the pocket sewn shut.)

I vote for the 28s, definitely. I think the fit looks right for skinnies.

I have high hopes for the Karen Kane jeggings I ordered as well as some ponte skinnies from NAS - both of those styles could be worn with tunics. I think I was confusing skinnies with leggings (i.e. leggings are not pants and should be worn with tunics, but skinnies ARE pants and can be worn with shorter tops). So if the consensus is that the Hudson's are good, than I'm all for interesting pockets.

Are they 10s though? Close?

Love them in size 28... my Hudsons do stretch but that is a good thing since they are a size small for me.

You look great in both sizes. I have jeans that are too big and I still wear them, I just make sure I use a belt. The rear might not look as good when the denim stretches out, but I feel comfort is more important than how your rear looks. But this is a choice you have to make. Do you want a sexy celebrity rear or do you want to be comfy and cute?

Jenava -- did you buy the Joe's that are part of NAS? I have them in my shopping cart but I'm hesitating because they don't look as high-waisted as they are described (it says they have a 9-3/8" rise). How do they fit? Standard or should I size down/up? Thanks!

I sized way down in my Hudsons (26 when I was taking a reliable 27 in other premium denim brands), and they are quite comfortable now. (Actually a bit more comfortable when I was 7 pounds lighter...so it goes.)

they look good from the rear view too. but yes, trying to wear a tunic over that pocket would be tricky.

I've found that if I use the elastic belts found in BP for $14, sagging is not an issue and the waist stays comfy.
