How would you style this? Help!

Happy Weekend everyone ☺
It's almost 2 A.M. on Sunday here & poor me cannot sleep.
I've been looking closely at my overflowing wardrobe ever since I joined YLF & want to give away pieces that I don't use or find ways to style them somehow.
There's this one top from Bebe in particular that I just can never get right and so it's been lying in a corner for over a year & a half.
Now the issue is that 1) this was one of the first ever gifts that DH surprised me with when we got married so I am sentimentally VERY attached to it & cannot think of giving it away, 2) it's pleated & peplum-ey which makes me think it's not for my body and 3) it's extremely sheer as you can see in the pictures, so there's no way I can wear it on its own over a bra.
I've tried camisoles with it and they look rather strange... hmphhhh...
I really need ideas & inspiration on how I can wear this or what I can do with it... please help!

How about at an at home date night without a bra and with skinny jeans? I doubt your DH was thinking of you wearing anything under it do you have a scarf that you could toss on over it if you need some modesty?

Have you tried it with just a pretty nude bra?
You might also try it under a cropped jumper, if the top is long enough that you'd have the pleat-y, flouncy part showing at the bottom.

It looks like a coral/orange shade. Angie did an ensemble last year with turquoise and coral. Could you do a column of turquoise under it - pants and a tank would work. Add a few accessories and voila.

I like Joy's idea. A romantic evening in, with your sexiest jeans and a pair of smoking high heels. Then just pop open some champagne and let romance rule.

So pretty!! Absolutely wear it the way Joy says!

But I also really love Cheryle's idea, and it could be done with a white column underneath also.

I wear tops in a similar style with slim bottoms (mostly shorts) or drapey linen pants.

He bought it as a sexy piece, likely, so wear it that way. Now I'm not as , uh, out-there as Joy is (lol JOY!) , but I would wear it with a lace bra or cami, (nude) skinny jeans , heels and blazer for drinks and dinner out. I think it's pretty. Hang it up, get it off the floor, and accept it as the special occasion piece it is!

That's a gorgeous color. I love the idea of wearing it with a column of cobalt blue. Try that.

Or - beach cover up! It'll look stunning over that cobalt blue bikini top you were wearing under your tee on Friday.

@Old Chic: I really like the idea of pairing it with something cropped over it. It's really warm in Mumbai all through the year & we never see winter, but I think I'll try this on with a cropped top for sure...thank you for the genius idea! I've also done the nude bra underneath but it's SO SO sheer than it doesn't look good

So pretty! I have a black satin bodysuit (can't remember the brand but it is underwear) and I find it great for under sheer tops. It has a built in bra too. Because it is fitted you don't get the bulk of a more fluid cami but it covers up what I need covered !

I love the layering idea. The pretty pleated bottom will look great peeking underneath a cropped sweater or even a gray sweatshirt for a high-low look.

Another idea is to wear something underneath it like a tee shirt. Shopbop recently did a 90s feature which showed interesting layers.

It's a beautiful color, I'd want to keep it too. I agree that the color of the cami should match the color of the pants like a column. That's the way to go! And you can do white, black, blue, pink, any color that you are brave enough to wear!
