How would you "funk up" this jacket?

Last spring, I asked for input on whether I should keep this little plaid jacket with hot pink lining and peplum in the back. Angie suggested that I "funk it up a bit" and I am now looking for suggestions on how to do that.

The colors of the jacket are a deep orange with touches of green. I was thinking of a deep purple flower pin but was afraid plaid + flower = clownish?

How would you style this to increase the funk quotient?

Thinking out loud what i would wear with it using items from my own wardrobe- a turquoise large flower pin or an acid lime green crochet scarf (the colour of Angie's blog section) biker influences like a studded cuff or boots x

I love Louise's suggestion of a green scarf. How about Ponte pants with boots? I know that you can’t wear jeans to work so I’m not suggesting jeans. You need smarter cowboy boots! Or oxfords. Add a waist belt over the jacket. Add bangles. Leave it open and belt the top underneath. Roll back the sleeves, show some liming. Match it with a skirt and fun hose. Does any of this make sense?

Thank you for these suggestions! I don't have a green scarf (only a pashmina, probably too wide for this purpose), but will be on the lookout...

I will post a photo once I assemble something. Does anyone think a flower pin on a plaid jacket would make me look like a graduate of clown college?

Instead of a fabric flower pin, how about a simply shaped broach such as a circle pin. A metallic flower pin could also work. The jacket is adorable and fits you so well. I second Angie's suggestion of turning up the sleeves to show the lining.

I like the idea of adding a flower pin for weekends April when you can pair the jacket with jeans and a simple t. I would try different belts. I would wear it over a simple sweater dress or with ponte pants.
