Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

How to Accessorize this Shirt? (pics included)

I bought this shirt from The Limited recently, but I'm not sure what accessories to wear with it. Normally, I would wear a long necklace, but I wanted to try something different. I tried it on with a few scarves and a belt. I already own the belt, but I can return the scarves. Feel free to use CRS if you are comfortable with it.

Also, I apologize I had to take the pictures in the bathroom b/c that's where I could find the best light. So please ignore the background. :)

Thanks!

Shirt - w/ belt
I tried to cinch the belt higher on my waist, but that made my stomach look kind of lumpy. I wonder if maybe a skinny belt would be a better option?

Shirt - w/ scarf #1
This is kind of a peachy/orange color in person.

Shirt - w/ scarf #2
This is a lighter pink scarf and a bit more bulky than the first one.

Shirt w/ scarf #3
This is an animal print. Not sure if it even goes with the shirt, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it on!

Violet, that colour is very pretty on you, but you’d benefit enormously from a different neckline. It’s sitting too high. You’ll find that V’s and scoops, or low boat-necks are best for your height and bust. Elongating the neck will give the illusion of height and minimize the bust. This is precisely the benefit of a lower neckline for your body type. I hope that makes sense.

I am going to agree with Angie. This type of neckline works the best on women with long necks and small chest. The color is gorgeous on you, so maybe try to find a similar shirt with a V-neck, you can layer it over a cami if needed. I love all of your scarves, I could see them working with so many different things. I especially like the combo of animal print and top color.

i was wondering if angie would pipe in about the neckline. :) although i agree with her analysis, i still like the shirt on you. i think it's a fun neckline emphasized with the leopard print scarf - it's very 50's! you could definitely mimic that style with a v-neck though and it would look superb.

Thanks everyone, for the feedback! I did think about the neckline being too high, but I fell in love with the color and was hoping there might be a way to pull it off. :) It's still got the tags on it, so I'll take it back and see what else I can find. I think I will hang on to the scarves and see if I can use them with other pieces in my wardrobe. Thanks again!

Good strategy and keep us posted.

Is it sweater knit?

I have some higher neckline shirts that I wear with V neck cardigans. But layering 2 knits can be awkward.
