I would target specifically for a tucked top since those "stay in" better with the higher waist, for me. I also am perplexed by the description, as I don't for sure see the front closure and think I see a side zip, which would make more sense. I agree the waist fit would have to be perfect, as would not belt over the leather, while could belt on top of a fabric flat waist. Hmmm--as usual there is an on-line special before things appear in the store to try IRL. Another reason why AT Online and AT Store seem to be at odds with each other at times.
Not for me, as I'm in the same boat as Janet. But I do think they'd look quite elegant on someone with a longer waist. I want them to be baggier than on the model - think Kate Hepburn. But they would still need to be fitted at the waist, so that may not be possible here since you can't really belt these.
Diana, it says 32" inseam which I think is long enough for me for heels 2", but maybe not. They do look short on the model, but maybe she's 5'11" !
Also I keep thinking the black leather waist makes them less versatile. One of the fun things about fitted waists and tucking is to use different belts for different seasons and looks. The only color listed is the dark navy which is not one of "my" neutrals.
The width would be interesting. Described as "wide leg" but I'm thinking that has become a relative term. If too narrow for the waist shaping, would give me the ice-cream cone look.
They look really good to my eye. But I must mention I haven't had success with AT in a long time in the fit department. Too much hip in their cuts for me these days.
I'll bet they put the faux leather waist on them to make them look decidedly 2014. I think my eye is adjusting, because they look completely normal to me, lol! You should try them!
