Houndstooth everywhere!

I have always liked houndstooth, since I am drawn to high-contrast graphic stuff, especially black and white. This year it seems to be everywhere in the shops around here, which is great for me.

The end of summer was making me kind of sad, but at least I have this to look forward to!

i love black and white but why don't I love houndstooth also? Isn't that odd that some patterns appeal and others don't- I love the missoni type zigzag though

I've never been a big wearer of houndstooth, but now I have my first houndstooth trousers and am looking forward to wearing them this fall.

Mandes, yes there is a lot of it around. I love it too:). Check out Sarah's trousers, they look fantastic and some of the girls have bought a lovely houndstooth blouse...yummy:)

So true -it's a lot like global warming - it's everywhere!
I love houndstooth and there is a really cute dress at Joe Fresh that I tried to convince my DD to get - her verdict was that it was too retro... sigh...
Joe Fresh also has lovely H/T blouse and H/T gloves. (sorry couldn't find a pic of the gloves)

Back in the early 90's I had a great houndstooth blouse - larger scale, very similar to the Joe Fresh one. I loved that blouse and wore it to death. Along with a black dress with white polka dots. Now I'm not sure it's the right pattern for me and my life but it brings back fun memories.

One of the great advantages of being "of a certain age" is that almost every trend is on its second or third or even fourth go-around for me. I'm naturally a bit conservative, despite my quirky streak, and have trouble adapting to new looks, but so little is actually new to me now, that I can jump on the ones I like without the customary breaking-in period. ;o) And houndstooth has good memories for me too, so I'll have no trouble at all jumping on it if it fills a need in my closet.

I don't normally like menswear-inspired patterns, but I love the high-contrast starkness of houndstooth and have been stalking some cheap doses of the trend. Tried a Forever 21 shift dress, but it felt a bit too short and the fit was (of course) off.

I love houndstooth! It's a little high contrast for me, but I will probably get some anyway. I have some fabric that will probably make it's way into a pencil skirt. I also thought about buying those houndstooth gloves at Joe Fresh.
