High-waisted curvy skinnies alert

Today at a local store I tried on J Brand cigarette style #7014 (they were 50% off so I wanted to check them out). They have high rise (hit me almost at my belly button) and apparently it's "curvy" fit, as I found out when I googled them - they were indeed too curvy for me, but I thought it may be useful info for other ylfers. I tried them on in ink wash and they run a little big.

Marianne, you are in Seattle, right? May I ask what local store they are 50 percent off at? I have a friend visiting who is looking for just this kind of jean! Thanks!

Judy, it was at Les Amis. I should have mentioned that. They were in the back of the store.

Hm I googled them and they are considered low rise, and would be low rise for me and I'm much shorter than you. How weird. I don't understand how rises work!

When I googled them, I found some showed low rise and some rises were higher. Maybe they have a high rise and low rise version.

Thanks Marianne. I am looking for a skinny for curvy fit.

I just wanted to share here that my visiting relative got a great pair of jeans while she was here (from Germany)...but not the J Brand. I'd done a little research on old YLF threads and come up with thoughts from other pretty pear shapes regarding their favorite jeans...and at Nordstrom's she tried on several kinds, including the J Brand...but for women who have fuller thighs and calves, they are just too tight to be flattering. She ended up with the David Kahn Nikki straight legs, which on her looked like a figure flattering skinny jean, in a shiny dark wash with contrasting yellow stitching. They are those kind that are 40 percent polyester, I hope they don't end up stretching out too much for her. It's her first pair of really nice brand new jeans, she was so happy! Thanks for all the info from here.
