Help with denim skirt

After patiently waiting for the right denim pencil skirt to find me, I've found one to try. I'm trying to decide on fit and length and would appreciate your opinion.

Smaller size, longer length:

Larger size, shorter length:

I also have the smaller size, shorter length which I didn't take a picture of but it fits like the smaller size picture with the shorter length. Thanks for your help and feel free to tell me if I should keep looking.

Patience, I think the first one (smaller size, longer length) is great. It's a very flattering proportion. Perfect!
My least favorite is the larger size and shorter length one, I think it looks too wide/boxy.
And can we get a close-up of those shoes? They look SO cute!! Are they cobalt blue?

Patience,
I think the smaller one definitely is the best fit and I agree with Antje that the longer length is flattering. I don't think you have to look for another style. The larger one is too wide and doesn't flatter your figure.

The first one is great! It makes you look trim and curvy. The other two really aren't flattering, I'd take a pass on those.

I agree, the first one is definitely the best! Denim would probably stretch a little and larger size would look more boxy.

I agree with everyone else, the first one is by far the best! Looks lovely on and gives you great shape!

Thanks everyone! I was liking the longer length better too. A few questions about the size. The smaller size does just fit and if they were pants I'd definitely go with the smaller size. The larger size has a bit of space. But I found that when I walk, there's a horizontal crease across the front that does not just fall out with gravity with the tighter skirt. Do any of you have this problem? The skirt is fairly stretchy though so this problem might solve itself. Also, growing up, I was taught that a skirt should not hug the bottom part of a woman's behind. It should fall straight after curving around the top part of the bum. Is this old-fashioned? I do like the skirt and will probably go with everyone's consensus on size.

PS Antje, I will start another thread for shoes.

Patience, You have great legs. I like the smaller size (like everyone else), but I'm thinking you have legs worthy of a shorter length. You didn't show the shorter/smaller skirt, right? Sorry to a PIA, but if you can post that photo, I'd like to compare the smaller/shorter with the smaller/longer.

Where did you get the skirt? I've been looking for a dark denim straight skirt too...I am well outfitted for the summer, but if I found one I liked, I'd pick it up.

Nicole, this is a jcrew skirt. It's only online. I will take a picture with my other jcrew stuff later this weekend and post.

I knew that skirt looked familiar! :) If it's J. Crew it probably will stretch out a bit Patience, so the crease will ease a little. I didn't really notice it in the photos though, and the thing about hugging the bum--there are skirts that do this that look a bit trashy (think stretch spandex), but I think this skirt does it in a very tasteful way.

Per Nicole's request here is the smaller size, shorter length

And the smaller size longer length so you don't have to scroll up if you wanted to look again:

Thank you! You pull off both lengths well my dear.

My favorite is still the slightly longer style, but both look great! The shorter length seems a bit more casual to me.

Both lengths look great on you IMO altough I too prefer the longer one.

Patience,
I agree that they both look good, but I like the longer one better.
