Help with Coordinating - What goes with Mint Green

I have been surfing around trying to figure out what coordinated well with mint green. I have a mint green fit and flare dress from Talbots: http://www.talbots.com/online/.....e=cat70008

I haven't a clue what color to put with it that would look okay on me.

-Yellow and any of its derititives is right out.
-Black feels too heavy.
-I fear pastels will wash the look out. Same for cream
-I have read chocolate brown, that seems doable, but not sure how pretty it would be (and I have nothing in brown. Would navy work? Maybe a turquioise, but then that seems pushing the envelope.

*sigh* I own a color wheel, and two books on colors. I still can't figure it out!

Navy or a darker green would be fab - & what MK said.

Looking at their web site, the Geo-Floral dress has all those same colors. Any color in that print should accent your dress nicely.

You could venture out into more novel combinations, but those colors are going to be the safe ones.

I like the idea of animal print with this colour. Even a black and white animal print sho could work and would be lighter than solid black.

Try burgundy/ wine/ maroon, tan/beige, silver-gray and or white, shades of peach/apricot, teal, cobalt, kelly green & yellow, fuchsia, dark pink. Ooooh and Navy with light gray. Black could work too if it's balanced with light gray and white.

I have been having fun blending these colors let us know what you decide!

Oh, so many exciting color combinations already! My favorites would be navy, turquoise, fuchsia, coral, cream, cognac, grey - and true red, too! But that would need to be calmed down with grey, brown or navy, I think.

You should also consider proportions. A strong color is very active and should only be used in small supporting acts, whereas the neutral ones can be used in much larger space.

You could try:
Brown shoes and belt, with a navy or white jacket, red bag
Nude shoes, red belt, cream bag
Turqoise cardigan, red belt, red shoes, navy bag
Navy shoes, turquoise/cream/navy scarf, cream cardigan, fuchsia bag

What about a darker teal for a monochromatic look or a peachy orange?

Great suggestions from the ladies and what a pretty frock

I like mint with faded blue denim, mid-tone blue, shades of white, and mid tone lilac. I also like it with shocking pink and ink blue.

It's kind of preppy, but I like it with lime green if that suits your coloring.

I think navy is the most fail-safe (esp. for your complexion), but the other suggestions here are great, too!
