Help with buying shoes

Last year I bought some cheapy gladiator sandals in black and nude to see if I liked the style on me. I did! I have heavier legs and feel like the less dainty gladiator works well for balancing lighter summer looks. A summer "boot" if you will.

Is this style still going strong or have I completely missed the boat? What do you Fabbers think of these? And does anyone have any experience with this Italian brand? I can't find any reviews online.

I'm also thinking of adding a Chelsea boot in black. My husband likes the Blundstones and they are very comfy on my high volume foot. I also like the rugged casual look of them - I'd mostly wear them with jeans rolled. But maybe they're too clunky? What about the Frye Erin Chelsea?

Are the double tabs on the Blundstones going to bug you? I think they would bother me and limit their wearability, but maybe not for everyone. LOVE the Fryes and the gladiators. I say go for it!

kerry, love those gladiators. i'm still seeing that style and cut out booties also seem to be everywhere, so i think that you will be very current in that sandal. i don't have any experience with that brand, but as long as they are returnable, i would give them a try. i prefer the frye's over the blundstones, because for me the frye's are sleeker, less rugged, but that's my style and and may not be yours.

I love my gladiators and hope they are still wearable this year. I'm still seeing them everywhere for sale so hopefully since they are quite wearable. I do agree that the amount of buckling involved will sway my decision on many pair.
I have worn out my black ones and pewter and will be replacing them.
Una has gidigio boots I recall maybe she'll chime in.

I'll be wearing my gladiators next summer for sure. I love the look and my fussy feet like them.

I like both pairs of boots. I think the blundstones read like docs so you could look at outfits with short docs as inspiration.

kkards, I agree, the Fryes are sleeker - me, I'm not so sleek but I still love them and really have to think about how I want to wear chelsea boots and what I'm going for.

Personally I like the Frye's as they look edgy, they are a very nice quality and shape and I prefer the single tab. Have you read the reviews? I'm not feeling the love for the Blundstones. Sorry, but they look like a tradesmen boot and a bit too masculine and heavy. In fact, here in Australia, where they are made, they are largely worn as a work or rural boot.
I buy a lot of Italian shoes, but have never bought Gidigio's, so can't comment on that brand. Regardless, the sandals are really appealing... they're a good colour, shape, price...I imagine you'll get a few good years out of them. This short gladiator style sandal doesn't seem to go out of style and they look good with dresses, shorts and jeans alike

Thanks for the input, DEB. I agree with you on the look of the Blundstones - that's probably why my husband likes them!

Thanks for the thumbs up on the gladiators. It's hard to buy something so far in advance of the season but they're such a good price for what I think is a quality brand and they're a great neutral.
