Oooh the Fryes are absolutely gorgeous... stunning. Which ones are more comfortable? I'd be inclined to think that the Fryes would be more sturdy and long-lasting.

The Fryes definitely look more beautiful, but I can't imagine them to be more comfortable than the Star Lings. Prove me wrong? Also, the Fryes won’t slouch – they are more like pukka biker boots.

Hmm, well the reason I bought two pairs of boots that look so much alike is that I bought the Star Ling boots, then I saw the Frye's for half price and knowing what quality Frye has I couldn't resist. I thought they might be different enough in style to both be keepers.
I wore the Frye's today and had no complaints about comfort at all. They felt great. I have not worn the star Lings yet but I know they to will be comfortable.

San, I get the impression that you wear boots much of the year in Seattle, so maybe you should keep both and scrunch the Star Lings, but if you are keeping just one, I love the look of the Fryes

I'll keep them both because I think they will serve different style purpose. I also think the Star Lings are going to be worn alot because they are so darn comfy.

It's true, Joy. I do not put the brakes on boot purchases when you live in Seattle, especially when you can wear them over jeans and keep your feet dry. It’s the only way to dress practically and look fabulous around here! Same goes for trenches, jackets, coats, knitwear and scarves – you can never have enough of these items for Seattle! The Autumns come quickly and the Winters are long. Plus the Springs are cold.

Yes, keep both and scrunch those Star Lings down - they will look very different from the Fryes that way. You know the trick Angie showed of storing them scrunched and held in place with a rubber band, right? This really "trains" them to stay scrunched.

I think the first pair would work for the funky urban edge that look you
like.
The second pair is definitely more classic and has an equestrian feel.
Maybe you could wear these with leggings and a tall sock 2-3 “taller than the boot
With a cute skirt and fitted jacket.
I recently saw a picture of a model who was wearing leggings, plus a sock and I liked it. Has to be the right sock though. In the picture the boots were tall Wellies (rubber boot) and the sock showed a few inches above the boot.

I bought the boots (returned with blemishes) but I will post the look when I get the new pair and find the right socks(Tall heavy and Cabled).
It may look awful but I am willing to try it. :)

Another vote to keep both San. They have very different vibes and you do need plenty of boots in Seattle. The Frye ones are gorgeous!
