Help Needed: styling slouchy leather pants

I have a fabulous pair of Vince slouchy leather pants. They are an XS and still quite roomy, which blows my mind. More problematically, I am trying to figure out what to wear with them that doesn't leave me looking completely shapeless.

They are these, and they fit about like on the model in terms of slouch factor. Suggestions? I don't want to have to buy a whole new wardrobe for them, but I really want to get more wear from them!

Oh they are fab! Hmm... I have some track type pants that fit a little like this. What works for me to add shape are tees or tops that aren't super oversized, but instead create the waves of small folds at the bottom like the example top at the link, the narrower waist and concealment (and ability to arrange) the folds seems to help with the transition to the baggy pants.

Also more boxy square tops or high low or welted tops seem to work as well, and some more bodycon things (short sleeve high necked black sweaters). Short sleeves or sleeveless styles also seem to help add structure because of showing more skin.

Thanks Rabbit. I got these on sale over a year ago, and I think I can get away with them at work if styled right. I need scrunch in the belly area for many reasons! Good suggestions. Trying to think how I could style them with a blazer.

Those are good ideas from Rae! Hmm under a blazer or jacket, sometimes I try on the jacket with bottoms without anything under but a bra just to make sure the shape is right, and then determine how much skin coverage underneath works and what length of top to aim for. Some looks work better showing collarbones or something.

I agree that all chunky or cowl necked/turtlenecked oversized sweaters are worth experimenting with, as long as they have some definition like a welt (or ability to fake it with tucking) at the bottom front hem.

I think if you find a sweater that hits at exactly the right part of your waist you are set. But you'll have to look and try and try, those are HEWIs.

Hers are a bit loose but not exactly slouchy.

Hum - cropped sweater =/- high low hem? What does you Hinge UWP sweater look like with this? Cropped drapey very light and fluid sweater with fitted underlayer/tank? Would the Joie tambrel sweater work or is that too much volume? Do you have a fitted by drapey top and would your theory lanai work with this? Honestly - it's time to take everything out of the closet and see where the sweet spot is with the pants. Could be surprising!! In a good way of course!! PS and some photos from the mother of chic!! 1/2 tuck?

Another thing I was thinking is that you would want to have the exposed ankle and foot to get the best look with the pants. Is that do-able for work and climate?

I love the idea of a skimming top & a chunkier third piece - jacket, coat or knit that is left open. Great pants

Gosh, not getting into specifics but my first thought was that EVERYTHING you own would go well with these!?

Would love to see your green/blue plaid shirt with these...with a one-up-one-down tuck?....

Chiming back in... I love the idea of a slightly fitted cableknit sweater, or a more tailored, shorter-waisted jacket. If you wore white I'd suggest a drapey white Everlane tee.
