Joy this is what it should look like on your phone. I took a picture of it on my grandsons phone because it was the easiest one to find it on. My daughter says it's on all iPhones.
She had her ID custom made on Esty. She doesn't remember which shop but said you would look.

Joy, when looking at medic alerts be careful about the bracelet part of it. In the past I have ruined many a knit item because the chain on the bracelet got hung up in the knit.
I found the necklace to be more wearer friendly especially when wearing modest tops as it can be tucked out of sight. Unfortunately I lost mine when coming home from Dublin going through security. I haven't replaced it yet as the agency has changed how things work up here and the prices are prohibitive. Need to do that, thanks for the reminder.
Also, when you get one engraved make sure you put insulin dependent diabetic. At our age they sometimes quickly lump you in with those being controlled solely by diet.
Hope things are going well for you and the educators are being very helpful.

Debbie and Freckles, thank you so much for the valuable information. I saw the dietitian but still have injection questions and wonder what to do when my numbers are too low to inject before a meal. Then I go way high.

Glad you were able to speak with the dietitian. There is a formula for what to do when too low for your injection but it varies between individuals. Talk to your diabetic team about this for sure! You have to deal with the low, have your blood sugar come up and then eat and take your insulin. The amount you take may vary from the normal dose, using a bit less.
Always, always deal with a low before you do anything else.

Freckles, thank you. Last week my doctor said to stop taking Metformin. I did and have not had any lows since. The dietitian said to eat less protein, so I have been trying to do that, but I get hungry between meals.
