help me decide if this jacket fits...keep or return?

being a juniors brand, I ordered the large, which was all that was available in red anyway. What do we think of the fit?

QM, I am thinking it looks a tad big, although, it looks like it is supposed to fit loose as per the model.

Is this the Jou Jou? If so, it seems more tailored and fitted on you. Likely because you are over 15 and have breasts lol! I like it. Are the sleeves long enough when unrolled?

mtb... that's what I'm thinking.... that it's a half size too big. I'm wondering if a quick nip and tuck might do the trick. I've never altered a jacket before though.

Mo..yes, it's the Jou Jou. I was surprised at how tailored it was actually... which I like. And the color is perfect. But for the price this can't be a quick hole filler until something else comes along. oh, and yes, the sleeves are plenty long unrolled.

I do need to try it on with jeans I realize. I think the dress makes it harder to tell...which incidentally the dress is sleeveless so there is no underlayer filling anything out.

I don't think I'd tailor it if it is just going to be a hole filler. IDK, it looks a little flimsy on my screen. I think you could do better... :T

I like it as a boyfriend blazer. The color is scrumptious. I agree that it doesn't look as polished as some of the basic women's brands--I'm thinking Halogen, Gibson, etc. I think you could find a more tailored blazer in one of those brands but it's going to be difficult to find a similar color. I really liked your NY&C blazer you got this summer--that was a light weight piece, no? Is it similar in quality and fit? H&M had a lot of blazers too. Have you checked there?

I think the color is great for you, and I think that overall it's *fine*, but having seen how terrific you can and do look in your other outfits, I'd hold out for something *great*. You could have it altered to fit better, but it's probably not worth investing the money at that price point, IMO.

Kelly- I"ve looked in H&M but I'm wanting red and didn't see any. I keep forgetting to check New York and Co... that's where I got my white jacket this summer. Maybe I'll swing in there tomorrow.

Honestly, quality-wise, I think you could do better too. I've learned my lesson the hard way about altering jackets — don't do it unless you absolutely love it, and you know you'll keep it in your closet for years. Jacket alterations, even simple ones, are not cheap.

Even for a boyfriend jacket, I'm not finding the fit good enough for fab you. I know BF jackets/blazers are supposed to be a looser fit, but they should fit well at the shoulders and to my eye this looks a tad big at the shoulders on you.

It looks to me that the lining is fighting with the red fabric, which, albeit a wonderful colour, does not drape well.

Thanks all for chiming in with your honest assessments. I do see what many of you are seeing.... I can find better. I think often my perception is skewed by the fact that I've admired something on-line for a long time, then finally order it, look at the link every day in gleeful anticipation of it's arrival, and then I FINALLY have it on my body (cue heavenly music). It takes a while for my brain to comprehend what my eyes see... it didn't live up to my expectations. That's why I"m so glad I have all of you!

On to the next red jacket to obsess over...

I've been checking out this one too! I'm glad you tried it and posted pictures. I have a few of the nordstrom's juniors jackets and they have been surprisingly very nice quality. I think this one would be super long on me though. I've had luck with their open jackets that don't have a front button closure, that seems to be the key for non-petite jackets for me. It's a cute jacket but I too think you can do better. Please post your finds, I would love to find a red jacket too.
