I'm not sure that the photos convey just how HOT it was today. And no, that's not a complaint! It sure took its sweet time getting here, but Seattle is officially in the midst of summer. It was in the mid 90s today and will be again tomorrow, which is *typically* the hottest that it gets here. And 0% chance of rain according to the weather forecast, which feels REALLY odd. There's a nice breeze as it is cooling down, but the sun won't be totally down for a couple hours.

So I'm enjoying the weather by spending the evening happily curled up on my porch. It's a little bittersweet. Just this morning B. and I found an apartment that we're *very* excited about - it met nearly all of our "wish list" items - so in a few weeks, we're planning to move. For the first time in both of our lives, we'll actually be living within the city limits and in a more urban area - a far commute from my current job, but close to our friends and in a neighborhood that we're familiar and comfortable with. Best of all, the place is very dog friendly. We'll be facing into a gorgeous landscaped courtyard where we saw many residents walking and playing with their pets while touring the unit, and there are some parks within a block or two that we can visit as well. B. and I want to wait and see how my employment situation shakes out, and I had wanted to move before making any changes, but we're hoping to make a canine addition to our family within the next year.

I'm thrilled about our new place and the prospect of having a dog, but I'll also miss our current apartment. The place we've lived for the past year plus is mere blocks away from a great paved trail, and relatively private for an apartment unit as most of our living room windows face out to a beautiful, tree-covered stormwater drainage creek. There are some small features that are kind of charming that I'll miss (such as the cute archway in the ceiling over our dining room table.) Once we move we'll be down one bathroom and will not have a washer-dryer in our unit (which was the one thing that was on my wish list that we gave up due to the amount of space, location, and price that the new place provides.) But the bottom line is that we both feel like we can really see ourselves making a new home in the place that we're planning to move to, we want the option of bringing a pet into our lives, and we're excited about the change.

So we'll have a few more outfit photos taken on my back porch, and we'll see how long it takes me to find a new "photo station" after we move. And how long it takes before I get "caught in the act" by my new neighbors!

#1-3: Black Karen Kane bermudas; Classiques Entier patterned silk blouse from NAS (similar to this houndstooth patterned one); chartreuse stone pendant on a double cord with purple beads, a hand-me-down from my mom (I adored it on her but she said she just didn't have anything that she could wear it with); black sequin Second Base camisole; bone patent strappy wedge Clarks sandals.

#4-5: Tahari Yellow and gray ikat faux-wrap dress; yellow Second Base camisole; pewter low wedge Clarks gladiators; purple beaded disc necklace from a farmer's market a couple years back.
