moving away from black footwear is both fun and way easier than I thought it world be. I started last spring with a big shoe purge, and have, except for a couple of mistakes, acquired a footwear wardrobe I am happy with. Like some of you, I also have foot issues to deal with-a small bunion on left foot, lots of heel slippage even in boots, some just falling off my feet, and no tolerance for heel height over 3 inches.

I am still analyzing reasons some shoes work and some do not. Mostly for the heel slippage it is if the shoe or boot fits tight over the front (arch area) the heel will stay put. The higher the heel the more front pressure, thus more padding and the softer the top has to be.Also flexability matters. I do not look at price (except too high, or too low, brands or what others find comfortable. I do look at ratings though when making on line purchases.

Some photos of what I have and what are working well for me. first replacement for the black are grey and charcoal. Then silver sandals last spring. Now I am up to more daring-red. The red #5 are the latest and so far the most colorful. Next purchase is going to be burgundy booties like the last two photos.
