Have I lost my mind? K/R White boots

Ok, sorry I've been absent from WIW posts for awhile. Lots going on. blardeblardeblarh.

Today on my weekly trek to the Rack I spotted these beauties in my size (for $79!!) and could not leave without them. What? White rainboots? Really? Talk me down please. Sorry no pics of me in them yet. I had to sell my brown Hunters because the style did not work for my high instep, but these are fantastic! I'm thinking with bermudas or white summer dresses or just to sit nicely in my closet?

I really should be on SYC due to some unexpected financial strains, but these are totally cool aren't they???
Full disclosure I have black patent rain boots and really can't wear these to work. I just really really want to own them. Ever have something like this?

Um, I really can't see rain boots with shorts or sundresses. But I've never owned a pair of rain boots, myself, so maybe I shouldn't be the one to say!

Jj these are very cool rain boots! And as long as you are not filling your closet with items just to look at (and I know you're not) I think it's ok.

My question is will you get some wear out of them? Do you mean you can't wear the white ones to work? Why not.

I was given a pair of leopard print rain boots for Christmas from a girlfriend and I hoping I will get wear out of them now the weather has turned cold. I am thinking of wearing them to work when it's raining and changing my shoes at work.

Do you children do sports activities on the weekends where it would be appropriate for you to wear the white boots.

Im thinking of possibly just wearing mine on weekends as I would my regular boots... just for fun.

I would wear them with skinnies and probably shorter items (the height of them with clams is too close) I'll have to experiment. Honestly I think I'll keep them just for the fun of it. One of those things I know I'd regret returning even if I rarely wear them. Practical people turn away now.

I'm really concerned about scuffing. White is great so long as it is pristine, but the first scuff is so painful! However, if you really know that you'll pine for them if you return them, then keep them! Sometimes love is about living with blemishes (or scuffs).

Ummmm. They are nice but with bermudas....really? Step away from the boots!

LOL! These are so pearly and pretty! I'm not sure about them with dresses--it's not a look that I've seen. I think they would be a great way to add some fun to a rainy day and they would go with nearly anything (and could be hosed off if they got muddy.)

They are beautiful! I'd personally rock them on rainy days only,b ut I'm not very adventurous.

I love them. I vote keep. I only wear rainboots on rain/snow, and that is instead of whatever shoe I would have worn otherwise. I would change to my normal shoes once indoors. For casual days, I wear them with jeans tucked in.
Did you happen to spot a size 8, for moi? I'd reimburse you for your troubles!

In my book, you are allowed to wear these with skirts, frocks, shorts and leans. On the positive side, these won't show "blooming!" I vote keep. If they make you happy, you should enjoy.

Maybe not with bermudas or sundresses (do you get a lot of rain when it's sundress weather where you are though?? I could be wrong.) but totally with skinnies just like other wellies.
Sure they will get a little scuffed or dirty but they are rain boots. And I understand the pretty, metallic pearly white fascination.

Not a fan of white boots, and I think white rainboots is asking for trouble - unless you're going to keep them out of the rain. I know that feeling when you just LOOOOOOOOVE something, though.

Well, they are rubber after all...not like they're going to stain. I think they are lovely! You should keep them and wear them!

Well...they'er not my cuppa....but YOU love them, so of course you should keep them! And wear them with joy. They will certainly work with jeans.

I can imagine wearing all black with those boots and cute trench with a cute umbrella....

I kind of like them but then I've never owned a pair of rain boots.

I'm going to experiment, but here are a few ideas I had. I think white would work in these outfits?
Of course it's raining today, but I'm too afraid to wear them yet! LOL Where's that post about wearing rather than saving your special items?

I think they are fab and fun! White footwear does always look larger than any other color--are you cool with that aspect of them? I like your styling inspirations. If you can't have a little fun with some pearly rain boots, what can you have fun with :)?

ETA: One thing, I just thought of. I have a pair of rubber boots that I love the look of, but never wear because the fit is so loose that my foot moves forward in the boot and jams against the toe. Every pair of rubber boots I've tried does this, and I don't have narrow feet or anything. Just something to think about...

I'm not sure about rain boots and dresses or bermuda shorts either. I totally understand wanting to have something because it's awesome, but before you splurge, think more about what you will wear it with.

Me likey! Just keep a Mr Clean Magic Eraser handy for scuffs, will work like a charm. I use it on my tennies, to whiten up the white rubber parts also on my white woodwork!

Zap you will look stunning! You will have to post pics of course. I'm already contemplating a new umbrella for this since my existing are animal print or Orange. Maybe those clear bubble ones I saw on DC outing???
