Heh, Angie--I've thought the same thing about designing shoes! But then I thought, maybe there's some kind of physical limitation with "comfort" and "style." For instance, by it's very nature and physical construct a sleek, unbulky shoe is just not that comfortable. If it could be, why wouldn't someone have done it already? I feel most comfort shoes tend to be on the bulkier side (big, chunky heels, minnie mouse rounded toes--ie Gentle Souls, etc.), and that's not as much to my aesthetic as a little round toe pump is, which is why I hate shoe shopping. Very occasionally I can find a shoe that is both comfortable and to my liking, but it's only available in black or brown (sad face).
I'm totally there with you, Angie. When I visit England in a year or two, shoes are at the top of my list of things to buy.
