Has anyone ever ordered from cabi?

My regular UPS guy's wife sells cabi clothing. Every year or so, after he's delivered a huge pile of boxes to me, he'll leave me one of her catalogs. From what I can tell you host parties and the "stylist" brings a variety of clothing/sizes to your house for you and your guests to try on. I am intrigued by some of clothing as well as the idea of someone bringing clothes to me! On the downside, I'm afraid I would feel obligated to purchase if I had a party. Has anyone had any experience with this company?

I've been to their parties and it was a rather hard sale atmosphere. The things reminded me of Chicos and were rather pricey. One would need to chose carefully. As I remember, if you ordered it, there were no returns. Most was too big for me so I hesitated to take chances and did not buy, but there was lots of pressure. You may see something you love though.

I am quite inspired by their catalogs myself. I found a pair of Cabi white skinny jeans and they are the best fitting jean I own (of course before this darn weight gain).

I've been to a couple parties, I never felt pressured to buy which is good because the clothing didn't really work for my body. I rather like the whole concept for someone trying to build a capsule...I especially like some of their toppers, but they are expensive in my view. I did order a top from a party but since they didn't have my size we guessed and ordered a smaller size...it didn't fit..was super huge, I was able to return it, though...less shipping costs.

I buy a piece or two every season. I like how the pieces fit....especially their jeans. Everything goes together and I find that I have been wearing everything for a couple years so I find the cost per wear is good. I have actually exchanged a couple items with no issues. I have had NO PRESSURE to buy since my stylist only wants me to look good...not just sell me clothes. She will also suggest things from the new season that will go with stuff I have already bought. The only items I have not really been super happy with were the sweaters. I found they didn't really hold up very well. Everything else, the quality is excellent.

Thanks everyone. Joy, the sizing concerns me the most. Looking online I can't look at sizes unless I give them my information, which I find frustrating. If my friends have interest I may conciser hosting a party this fall. It could be fun. Truthfully I feel a little obligated since my UPS guy hand delivers my NAS boxes to my car!!

I have tried, and found it to be pricey at the time but my perspective's probably changed since then. At the time, a long sleeved knit dress was $100. Some of the pieces were okay, some a little frumpy for my taste. All the pieces stretch,so they were really comfortable and could fit a variety of bodies. My girlfriend bought a ton of stuff and a basic pair of work pants that were really nice, she wore them all the time. I think they came in S,M, L, XL.

I thought the party was fun, It all depends on your salesperson and your comfort level with trying things on. There were about 15-20 women there and the funniest/oddest part of the party were the people trying clothes on in front of strangers in the dining room, living room, etc.because the bathroom and bedroom were occupied.

I would consider having a clothing party but I tried it with jewelry once and discovered my friends aren't into parties like that at all. Complete fail. A few came just to be nice and most didn't show. The poor woman hardly sold anything. Then she pressured me for two years to have another party...

I like CAbi and think the parties are social fun. Being petite, few things fit me but each season I seem to pounce on 2-3 pieces that are workhorses. The Chanel or Jackie O knit jackets bridge my casual to dressy outfits, and print tops are designed to work with many flattering colors. If you like the idea of capsules, a catalog or party is an easy way to see how they work IRL.

My mom wore Carol Anderson clothes and now really likes CAbi clothes as well! I've seen the stuff but it's not my style, personally. She has gotten some cute stuff, though.

I've not been to a party, but the catalog is intriguing. My nail salon occ hosts CAbi rack events. I tried on a couple of CAbi pieces at a consignment store recently but passed because even on consignment, they seemed pricey for what was essentially a white t-shirt. I love their color choices, though. I'm a size 12, so most items like this are too small for me.

I have several Cabi items. A former neighbor used to sell it, so I bought my first couple things at a Cabi party at her house. Then...I discovered sample sales and the nearby Cabi outlet. I agree that retail pricing is generally higher than I would expect it to be, but I have several items from 9-10 years ago that are still going strong. I tend to gravitate to their colored jeans, long cardis and jackets. Maybe check whether you have an outlet nearby. Even if you don't want last year's stock, you could try things on for size with no party pressure.

I've gone to one party with a friend. Clothes were cute (citron was featured that year) and casual, ran big. I find it comparable to Kut from the Kloth quality and a little overpriced. It was all friends and I felt no pressure at all - it was like being on a shopping trip with girlfriends. I only bought one item because most everything was too big, but it was fun to look.

I have a friend who hosts a couple of CABI parties a year. I went to the first few that she hosted, and definitely felt a lot of pressure to buy. I'm sure this just depends on who's hosting and who the regional sales rep is. I didn't like that there were only one of two sizes available for most items, so if you liked something and the sample didn't fit you would have have to guess on the correct size (and be stuck with it if it didn't work). CABI clothes really aren't my style, but I did find one work jacket that I like and still wear (after having the sleeves shortened). I also bought a few knits that looked good initially, but didn't wear well at all. The other items I got didn't work and ended up in the charity box.

Sorry this is a bit of a negative review, but it didn't work for me. I think it would work if you like the style of clothes, are of a "normal" size (I'm petite so have a hard time with many regular-sized items), and are the sort of person that knows exactly what you want and a decisive shopper (since it's difficult to return items).

I really like the idea and enjoy the email newsletter. But there's a store nearby and IRL I've never bought. The price compared to the quality versus other nearby stores has always had me thinking I can get better. I feel, tho, this is a little unfair of me... I don't know.
