Congratulations Beth Ann - and how exciting (and nerve wracking) for you!
When you wear your beautiful friendly smile I don't think anybody can really notice anything else! Wishing you neighbours who are as wonderful as you are!

CONGRATS, and you are cuter than cute. Only YOU would think of a Handshake Capsule.

White jeans (dressy casual), pretty top, comfy shoes, fun topper, statement bag, great hair and big toothy smile - would do it for me. Sometimes neutrals. Sometimes colours.

Everyone will want to be your friend Beth Ann, and you'll make a great impression no matter what.

Wow - 4 days! All that painting paid off, I guess! Congratulations!

no real suggestions, but i love the idea of a handshake capsule!
and congrats to you and your family!

Beth Ann, what a fun, scary, exciting time for you!

I grew up in Indy/ Carmel area and visit my dear sister there every year. I think the wardrobe advice already given is spot on.

Good luck with the move!!

Congratulations! - I managed to miss this earlier. Call me crazy, but I would do some recon work and spy on your future friends and neighbors to see what the standard is. Well I wouldn't actually but I would want to! I am sure you will be a hit in any event!

Elizabeth P: How right you are! I need to project my real self, since that's the only role I can play night after night!

Olivegreen: You are clearly experienced at relocation! I used to be -- having moved several times in my 20's and early 30's. I like the opportunity for reinvention, but I'm lousy at stealth! Your wisdom is appreciated.

Windchime: I'm typically quick to smile, but I'll have to remember not to look dazed and confused! It's easy to do right now!

Rambling Ann: Good tip about the iced tea! I'll definitely do that!

Merwoman: Thanks for your kind words --- I'm trying to remember to be the neighbor I want to have!

Angie: I called a salon in my parents town this afternoon and asked if they had someone who could cut my hair that very hour! Crazy, I know, but I've just lost my stylist at home, and my hair has been driving me crazy! Sarabeth pruned me like an overgrown arborvitae! I feel reborn and fresh. I packed my white slim bf's for the home inspection tomorrow. I'll pair with my chambray blazer and the flat fuun shoe below!

Amy -- you are the painting expert! I hope your move is on the horizon!

KKards -- Thanks for the good wishes!

Dakota: I grew up in West Lafayette. I'm looking forward to the balance of a metro area with a family friendly (and affordable) vibe.

Shevia: Learning to watch and listen is so key in any new situation. Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a golden retriever (squirrel!) I'll have to remember to slow down, breath, get a nice cup of tea, and just people watch (maybe at Nordies).

WOOOHOOO. You are sorted. Glad you could have your hair done immediately.

Oh my gosh, Dakotacheryl, my parents are in Indianapolis!
