I'm at the Rack returning the teal Perlina because the zipper made it hard to open. This Dooney Burke caught my eye. I've never spent this much on a handbag but I really like this one. What say you? Am I turning into my Mom if I start carrying a Dooney?

I love love love the color. And the darker tone kind of echoes your hair. I say go for it. Looks like luxurious leather.

Thanks, abc! I think maybe this is the one. I just can't decide if it looks too equestrian or something. I guess I can always return it if it doesn't work out.

I think it's beautiful, and it looks like your style. It doesn't look at all dated to me, so maybe your mom is especially stylish?
I'd go for the cognac, since it's the color you were considering. Plus I do think it's just a prettier style with the contrasting handles really showing against the lighter color.

Thanks, Sharan! I decided I do need something with handles that are long enough to go over the shoulder. I think I'm done with the cross body style for awhile. I've been carrying it around in the store and have been running through outfits in my head--I think this might just be versatile enough for everyday.

Oh gosh is that ever a nice bag.
My mother has a d&b and I have psychological hang ups about this brand too.
I think you and I probably just need to get over it, or else cover up the logo somehow.
It's a beautiful bag.
I think I prefer the brown, but of course, choose the one that goes best with your wardrobe.

Pick the dark brown, Kelly. It's a classic style....the love the long handles that can go over the shoulders. I look for the same thing myself It looks very versatile and looks like great quality leather in a rich, luxurious tone. I really really LOVE it!

All I can say is that is an absolutely beautiful bag. The leather looks so supple. The color comes across as rich. It looks really well made.

Thanks, Fabbers! I've just been oohing and ahhing my new handbag I went with the two tone cognac/brown. I thought the brown was pretty but I thought the cognac would go better with my wardrobe. The cognac color is exactly what I've been on the hunt for and this bag has enough detailing to make it interesting--I liked the Cole Haan and the Hobo from my other thread but couldn't help but think they were a little too plain for my already simple casual style. Thanks so much for helping me get over the brand and to just appreciate the style!

Late to the party but I'm so happy you bought the purse. It is beautiful! I bought a D&B several years ago, a very simple style in a an off-white color. I was drawn to it because of the simplicity and the absolutely gorgeous leather. I was going to return it because of my hang ups with the brand but I kept it and receive compliments on how beautiful it is all the time. It is a timeless, quality purchase and I hope you enjoy it.
