Guardians of the Galaxy: Loved it.

Saw this with my son and his buddy. All three of us wanted to stay and see it again. What a fun, clever, entertaining movie. It will be the Star Wars of this generation - even the characters have parallels. It's such a mashup of Firefly/Star Wars/Indiana Jones old school entertainment. And I CANNOT get "Hooked On A Feeling" out of my head!

Oh, and Gamora's a intergalactic UWP for sure...

We loved this movie, too! The kids loved it, DH loved it and I loved it, as well, though we all laughed in different parts. It has something for everyone! The slapstick/typical middle school boy jokes didn't amuse me as much, but at least two of the characters being extraordinarily literal made me laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes. Most entertaining movie I've seen in a long while.

The giant Sasquatch statue at work got decked out in Guardians of the Galaxy gear a couple weeks ago.

B. and I really got a kick out of it. I wasn't sure what to expect as this wasn't a story/superhero I was familiar with. B. Is kind of my tour guide into comic book character geekery. *grin*

Loved it. My son went twice and we can't get the soundtrack out of our heads. Two thumbs up as they say.

Oh - so good to hear! I love Chris Pratt. Genius in Parks and Rec, and really an all-around-good-guy, from what I have gathered in interviews.

We saw the 100-Foot Journey and were so disappointed. Ms. Mirren is generally so good but we felt this movie was just painfully meh. I think we need something loud and silly to wipe the slate clean.

Viva, that is too bad... I think that genre of "heartwarming" cross cultural films can get really predictable (despite it being my culture in the film!). Guardians is a good palate cleanser.

The Indian family (actors and their characters) was by far the best part of the film, Una, and of course we had Indian food beforehand, which was the best part of the night. But this movie was a triple threat: heartwarming plus Oprah plus Spielberg. Should have known.

May I ask how old your son is? I have a 10 year-old son and wondered if it would be appropriate, since all PG-13s are not created equal. TIA

My kiddo is nearly 11. This is probably the most violent movie he's seen - it is really cartoon violence, but there is a lot of space cowboy shooting and fighting. I am pretty conservative about what he can watch in general and he is too - he won't watch Indiana Jones or Jurassic Park, for instance. He still prefers animated stuff like How to Train Your Dragon. Oh, there's some adult language and suggestive one-liners that went over his head.

Una, I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. Hubby is taking the day off on the kids' first day of school next week and we're going to see it! I'm also trying to see if we can fit Into the Storm also.

Looooved this movie! Chris Pratt was awesome. My only teeny tiny nitpick is that Karen Gillian (Nebula) didn't have much to do except be vaguely menacing and look absolutely amazing.

Just saw it last night! It was our first outing with just our youngest as he is on his way to being an only child with his 3 siblings all off on their own to colleges... None of us wanted to sit home last night!!!
I didn't think I was going to like, it ,but was pleasantly surprised.. We saw it in 3D.

Yeah I would have liked Nebula and Gamora to do a little more. I saw it with my dad, and he was delighted with the whole thing, so that made it extra fun.

I loved the music so much I went and bought the "Awesome Mix" soundtrack - all songs I remember playing at restaurants on JUKEBOXES in the 70s...
