I have to wear safety shoes to work so they won't work for me. Too much exposure on the leg.

If they were not high-rise and if they were full-length, I would really like them.

Sigh. High rise and high waters on my body, just not a great thing. That's ok, less temptation to shop!

I just can't get excited about ankle or cropped pants on me. I have short legs and a long torso, so I have to work way to hard to make them look good. In weather that allows a bare ankle, I can be in a skirt.

Still, a fab look, I just have to enjoy it on others

Maybe with a high/ low hem shirt/blouse...on me, high waist back view + tucked shirt is SCARY. Haven't worn that look since high school and I regret to say that things have likely not improved it the junk arena since definitely for someone with curves on the bottom.

My eye still has not adjusted to the cropped look. To me, it always looks like the person is wearing pants too short (shrunk in dryer). If I am ever going to wear cropped pants, it will have to look intentional and not like a mistake.

Aha. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the high waisted trousers. I just don't like the rear view for me. So I'd wear a longer top which defeats the purpose. I should try some on....

Yeah, I'm ignoring the high-waisted part too It works if you are really slim and not hourglassish - but can go into "mom jeans" territory way too easily otherwise.

I like these in theory but don't think they would work on me. Like Lisap said, the rear view goes into mom jean looking territory very easily if the fit is even slightly off.

Lisa, exactly! Especially with a short torso and big boobs. It is incredibly frumptastic on me. Makes it looks like my boobs are at my waist and my hips take up even more real estate than they already do. I've been dreading the return of high rises. I'll be clinging to my mid-rise pants and babying them so they last until the trend turns again.

I'm an hourglass. I feel a hi-waist + cropped length is asking for giant-looking hips! But I do so love the look on others.

EDIT: I think I was remembering the 80s and 90s, when women wore "mom jeans." Such a disastrous look.

I just read Angie's post that high rises look lovely on pear and hourglass shapes. So maybe I should try this! I actually love the more fluid fits she's featured and am wearing my track pants with such joy --more fitted at waist-ish area, fluid thigh and tapering to the ankle. It's super comfy and flattering.

While I welcome a bit of a higher rise, I am also wary. And after spending my teenage years in too-short pants unless I made them myself, I don't really welcome shorter pants. Okay, the Audrey H. look is fine in warmer weather, but no, I'll pass. I do welcome a slightly higher waistline.

I am going to try some pairs on...I do love a cropped pant, it is a super versatile item with my climate. But I do tend to wear with a mid rise and an untucked top. Given I am shortwaisted and long legged I feel the proportions work because I want to lengthen my torso rather than my legs. But I think if you can get it right and embrace curves a higher waist can work on an hourglass.

I looked for some inspiration online but when I searched on "hourglass figure high waisted pants ". I came up with 60% photos of Kim Kardashian... Nuff said.

I love the cropped pant part but not the high rise. 11 inches is super high even on tall "all legs and short waisted" me. I'd look like someone stretched me out from the waist down and scrunched me together from the waist up. Not a good silhouette I'm afraid.

Well I can take an 11 inch rise, and I am a pear - but honestly - with the whole short leg thing thrown in I can't see it on me. In fact I'm working up to posting a thread on the topic of should I ever wear any pants, of any sort EVER!
