I was wearing it today in our spectacular warm and sunny 28 degree weather because I love it so much. As I was driving around, I felt a little draft under the arm - and saw a huge irreparable tear. Goodness knows how it happened. It's not a tight dress.

Fun YLF London gathering memories running around Covent Garden trying to get this frock in my size on Jaime's (Shevia's) birthday last year. This dress and I had a ball. And so it goes....

El Cee, I'll be looking for a tomato red dress for Fall perhaps (NAS, I'm looking at you). I must have a dress that colour in my wardrobe because it makes me very happy. Thanks for the kind words. The light blue striped linen shirt dress is actually a great fit.

Of course, I still have my watermelon lace dress to satisfy my need for bright sour colour, although it's a much dressier dress.

Darn - I hate when things like that happen. And it's always to the nice pieces, isn't it? Ever noticed that you never stain, tear, or shrink clothes relegated to mowing the lawn? Sorry to hear this

I had a similar incident last week.

Before I read Joy's comment I was going to suggest making a throw pillow. I have done it before! Clothes make the best pillows and even braided rugs... I agree, Sam would love it - it would feel like mommy. But I would be torn (pun intended) on this one - I would end up being sad by being reminded that I can't wear it anymore!

Angie, I feel a bit weird offering you suggestions, but have you considered looking for the dress on eBay? Everything I've recently bought there is new or good-as. No misrepresentations or hassles. It's a fairly new piece; the odds are pretty strong you'd eventually see it for sale, and you could set keywords to get updated.

Unless you think the quality of the original dress itself was an issue....
