So, the GGs! i'm not a big awards show watcher, but I got sucked in yesterday! I love the fashion, but obviously, don't usually take cues for real life from it. But yesterday I made an exception. Emma Stone's strapless top and draped pant combo with the stunning bow in the back was spot-on - distinctive, stylish, elegant while still being fashion forward. But more than that, it was an inspiration - the bow was the perfect way to elevate a top-and-pants combo into something dressy enough for the most black-tie of events. Note to self - for future dressy events, try pairing a sparkly corset with draped pants and have a long, cascading bow behind me for drama.

Emma Stone's jumpsuit was my favourite outfit of the night too, Roxanna. I do think it would have looked as good without the bow for Golden Globes though. Killer stunning look.

Naomi Watts in citron was my next favourite of the night, as was Channing Tatum's wife in architectural lemon yellow, and Melissa McCarthy's long sleeved black and white number. I loved the white gloves and clutch that Amal Clooney wore, and Julia Louise Dreyfus always gets it right.

Emma looked amazing. I think I read in the paper that it was a jumpsuit. Kudos to her for being a bit different and not wearing the usual evening gown.

I'm pleased that your inspiration wasn't the super deep V's that several women were wearing. LOL They need to stop trying so hard!

Marilyn - I think they took 'Golden Globes' literally!
I think that many of them are at a certain age and they think they need to prove that they can still show off their bodies and that's what defines them looking fabulous. Personally I think showing a more unique sense of style and some grace is what it's about!

I usually don't favour glitz and strapless dresses on the red carpet, but just look at how well very petite Naomi Watts wears this look. The snake around her neck is divine, and she looks soooooo comfortable and happy:

Couldn't agree more, Roxanna.

Jennifer Lopez got an "enough already", we already know you have a great body comment in the paper. They also mentioned the actress from Gone Girl, who had a baby five weeks ago, as trying a bit too hard in her barely there dress.

A shout out for Amy Adams' beautiful soft blue/lavender number - the combination of her draped dress and side swept soft curled hair had a lovely "old Hollywood" look.

Count me in as a big fan of Emma Stone - fave look of the night, and I actually loved the bow/sash part of it.

I also loved Sienna Miller, although she was definitely in the maximal-cleavage group so would not pass muster for everyone, I'm sure. There was just such a lovely and luminous delicacy to her dress. And I loved her hair -- pretty much the same as Emma's, gorgeously undone bobs. Perfection, to me.
