Do you have a go-to white blouse that is a mainstay for your closet? High quality...great fit...versatile...classic? I have lots of white blouses, but not a single one that is truly fab. Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations.

When I think of white blouses I aspire to Angie's and other forum members Anne Fontaine blouses. They look so fabulous! Maybe someday...

I also have several white blouse, some embellished other ruffled but when I need a classic white go with everything impeccable fit and style I grab my Brooks Brothers never iron!! The collar stands up perfectly wash after wash!

Our fabulous Taylor always raves about Brooks Brothers. I have been on the lookout for one for a while. I took advantage of their winter clearance sale (which is still going on) and mine should arrive later this week.

Nope. Don't wear white, rarely wear button-downs. This is one example of an item I do not believe I will ever wear... Will admire them jealously on all of you, though.

This is definitely a hole I need to fill. I have two but they're just OK. I'm not sure if my lifestyle requires such a high quality one. Any mid-line recommendations?

I have one from Theory that has saved me so many times. The fabric has a slight stretch to it and there is a pin-tucking detail that forms a sort of cummerbund at the waist, so that it has a little bit of interest on its own but can be layered with anything else also.

With two little kids, I can't buy expensive white clothes because they won't last. But I have two white button-downs that work fine for me - one from JC Penney that's longer and more tunic-like that I wear with skinnies, and a new one from Express that's short sleeved with some pintucking detail on the bodice that I wear with skirts.

I followed Taylor's sage advice last fall and got a white no-iron Brooks Brothers shirt. I wish I could report back on it, but it is still hanging, unworn in my closet :-\ I imagine it will be wonderful when I get over my fear of woven, fitted shirts. . .

No. I try to avoid white in general. It so high maintenance for me. Except in the summer when I use a lovely white linen camp shirt from JJill that serves many purposes including beach cover up.

I LOVE white shirts and no one works it like Carolina Herrera, but it just doesn't fit my lifestyle now.

I have 2 woven, one knit, and then just the regular tank, tee, cami. I love my Express wrap woven (and it got lots of thumbs up here, too) but haven't worn it yet because it's just dressier than my daily style. I've worn my Victoria's Secret short sleeve woven a few times. I really need a quality v neck tee which I know I'll wear to death with my casual looks - that's why it needs to be a really good one and not these 2 for $10 types I've been making do with!

I have been thinking about the same thing Kyle. I have a jcrew one that I usually wear but the collar is so small which isn't as modern looking as I would like. I think I will try Brooks brothers (esp for the no iron) but I have also been thinking that I just need to budget for an AF shirt each year. I do have a couple but no plain white one.

I'm with you Kyle. I have one, don't wear it that often and it's just o.k. Mine is from Land's End and it is a petite size and it was on sale...that is why I bought it. I does the job for now, but eventually I would like to "upgrade" for some of the other suggestions.
