About your wardrobe and personal style

Global Challenge - D

I choosed the option D - the city I live

Lisbon is the capital of Portugal, you will find in Lisbon people from all over the world, a mix of cultures and different forms of dressing.

Portuguese are very conscious about the way they dress, apart form places near the beach, you will find few with t-shirts and shorts, we like to dress well and we pay close attention to trends, quality and to the fit.

We like also quality, the best brands, leather shoes and bags (sometimes I think we like to show off a little).

We are very conservative and you will not find much color, we love black (in the winter it's the official color), white, brown, beije.

For this challenge I noticed that almost everyone is using skinny jeans, insane high heel shoes and voluminous tops or tunics (mainly white). For work black trousers. Women, apart from me, don't wear skirts, in the summer I spot some dresses, but in the fall and winter its trousers everyday.

I choosed two outfits, one with skinny jeans and a voluminous top and a beije jacket (my personal structured touch) and the highest pumps I had in the closet.
The other is black and white with my personal touch: the belt and the bag.. not many women wear the belt with the cardigan and not many women here wear a colorful bag (the choosen color is black for winter and camel for the summer).

This was fun for me! Hope you have fun too!!!!!

Lovely! Thank you for sharing a little bit of Portugal. I don't remember a thing about Portugese style from my visit, because the gorgeous beaches, castles, and the amazing food took up all my memory space. Actually I don't know how you look so svelte because Portugese food is so incredible :)

Oh! This challenge is fun. I'm getting to learn a lot about different places. I can't comment on how well you captured the local style, never having been to Lisbon. I can, however, say you look great in both outfits!

Oh, Rute! You know that Portugal is near and dear to my heart! I think you captured it's essence perfectly. The women are stylish and they do dress well.

I think you look beautiful and I love how you added your own personal touches. That blue bag is gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing!

Rute - you just transported me back to Lisbon but only with a higher style quotient than I saw. Your personal touches definitely kick it up a notch. Gorgeous.

I would love to visit Portugal (my family emigrated from there in the 1920's) and was so glad to read about Lisbon style. I am a neutral fanatic and would fit right in lol.

You are rockin the skinnie jeans :)

What a treat! Thank you for sharing Portuguese street style with us, Rute. You look utterly divine :0).

I’m digging you in those skinny jeans with heels. Beautiful!

You look fantastic in your skinny jeans, Rute. I love how you are showing both a Lisbon look and highlighting your own style. Your bag is so bright and fun!
That is interesting that Portuguese women don't wear skirts or dresses very often. I was also surprised to learn that bold colors are rare. I'll bet that Portuguese women are experts at mixing neutrals!
I notice the same thing where I live - I'm not in Seattle proper like Angie is, and in my area the style is less urban/fashion forward and more casual. I grew up only wearing dresses or skirts for special events.
