Gibson Riding Jacket - What to Do?

The Gibson riding jacket - unstyled. I'm leaning towards returning it. I don't have a black jacket right now, but I am wondering if perhaps I should go with a more traditional silhouette, one that I could wear with both jeans and dresses. On the plus side, I like that it is longer in the back and covers my bum when wearing skinny jeans. What to do, what to do?

Bonus shots: My husband and I visited the art museum several weeks ago and I found this necklace on super clearance in the gift shop. The sales lady told me that it was from when they had a Tiffany stained glass exhibit. It caught my fancy and I like its stained glass appeal.

Please keep that jacket! Gorgeous classic that's also different from the usual blazer. The necklace is beautiful too. Love the whole outfit and would wear it in a heartbeat.

I really like this style of jacket on you, so I vote that you keep it! Also, I love your necklace, reminds me of the murano glasswork necklaces that you can find in Venice!

Keep the jacket! It is a gorgeous look on you. I have a riding jacket and go HARD with riding boots and blouses---it is so feminine but strong. The cutaway front is very flattering and I'm with you---a great jacket that covers the bum can't be a BAD thing! You struck gold with that gorgeous necklace.....fabulous!

I can't believe the jacket is in question -- it looks GREAT on you! I've found mine to be extremely versatile and flattering.

And I love the necklace. I have a special fondness for glass pieces as well.

Debora I think this jacket IS quite classic (but modern, yes). AND it fits you to a tee! I really love it on you and would advise KEEP Gorgeous necklace, as you said stained glass effect especially with all that pretty sunshine.

Please keep the riding jacket, Deb. It really makes you look youthful and spunky in a very elegant way. There is always room for a true classic black jacket - but do keep this one!

You MUST keep it. The thing that screams out at me from your outfit is how perfect everything fits you. From your jeans and boots to that incredible blazer, the fit is unbelievable. Please, please please keep the blazer! It would be a crime for you to return it!

Thank you all so much for your input! I wanted to get back to this thread earlier in the day, but my computer room was overtaken by teenagers.

I guess I was on the fence because I wasn't sure how versatile this type of silhouette would be. It's been sitting in my closet for over a week now with the tags on! I had almost decided to return it until I saw Angie's post yesterday with her equestrian style jacket and then read all over your comments and the excellent points that you made.
Fauxpas, you are right - a great jacket that covers the bum can't be a bad thing! And, Rita, please do not lose any sleep!

This is the same blazer I got in grey - please keep it. I think it works very well to substitute a traditional blazer but adds a twist to the outfits. I think it works with dresses too, especially with sheathes. Mine is becoming a real workhorse...
