Hi everyone!

Stepping into conversation to ask for advice! I've decided that I'd like to change into a "getaway outfit" before we leave our wedding reception in August. I'd love something with a bit of a vintage feel (but still wearable for other occasions), and have no idea where to start. Any great ideas? Any pictures of what YOU wore?

I didn't change, but I could see a skirt/jacket suit or a dress with jacket for that.

It really depends on where you're going after the reception. I didn't change either, but I bought outfits especially for the days thereafter before we went on honeymoon.

I went to a wedding where the couple changed into semi-retro outfits and then left in a vintage convertible. We all went out to wave goddbye. Fun!

If it works for the location and there is place to change then it could be part of the overall wedding plan. If you will be stressed about the changing, who will mind the outfit, etc. then I would skip. You don't want to take away from enjoyment of your own wedding is my point.

What about a dress from jcrew? Don't know what your style is so hard to suggest a place to look.

I think I found something today, purely by accident. It's a perfect little black dress, knee length with wide straps. I love it.

I'm thinking colour for shoes/clutch rather than black -- yes?
