GAP Velvet Leggings...who accessorized best? :-)

Dear Fabbers - it's been a while since I posted pics!

I have to thank/blame dear Suz for for the inspiration to post. In Elizabeth's post we were discussing the GAP velvet leggings...and I mentioned that I really like wearing them with the BR citron sweater...and of course she asked for pictures...

I think the combo works - I find this burgundy almost a neutral and goes with everything. But what do you think ladies? Which footwear and clutch combo do you like best? I typically wear the blush turtleneck with the cognac boots, but I'm thinking it works ok with the citron as well?

Love it! Citron with burgundy and cognac looks fresh and fun.
I also tried the velvet leggings and returning them - too short and tight

I'm turning as red as these pants with your kind words Angie! That citron clutch wants to be part of every outfit. I was amazed to find that it is the exact same shade as the sweater.

My muse Suz! So happy to have a thumbs up from you! I was sorely tempted to buy the leggings in every colour. They fit me more like skinnies which suits me fine. I highly recommend the SM boots, extremely comfortable , and perfect height and colour. Fairly tts, I run between 37 and 37.5 and took a 37 in these.

Oh gosh this is too difficult for me. I like all of your options. No favourite. Love the sweater, the trousers, the boots, the clutches and the coat. Beautiful stuff. Just grab whatever is closest?

Oh, thank you so much for posting! I looked at that sweater in the store after our "conversation" and thought it would be too shapeless (thinking the neck) on me. But seeing it on you has me totally rethinking that... I might just have to try it on.

Every version of this is spectacular in my book. My least favourite I think is the citron clutch version, but it's not the clutch, it's he clutch/boot combo. I would prefer the clutch with black boots. Love your coat, it's amazing.

Try it on Elizabeth! I don't find turtlenecks attractive on me as my face is too long, but this loose cowl can be arranged in a few different ways to work. I also like a bit of a semi tuck to give some structure to the sweater. I appreciate your feedback...and the coat love. That was my colossal splurge item last year!

I have looked at that sweater in the store and I think it is too short for me. I have not even try it on - too bad it does not come in Tall. The color is fab though, I hope it will brighten the grey winter days for you.
I also tried the velvet leggings in size up. They were quite loose on the hips but still super snug on the calves. I guess this style is not meant for "athletic" calves.
Does anybody else have this problem with those leggings?

Sveta, I have pretty "athletic" calves, and it's an issue with a lot of slimmer leged pants, but not really with these. It could have been better, but it could have been a LOT worse. I suspect it's got a lot to do with the length and shape of the leggings, and where they fall on the calf. If my legs were longer, the slimmer part of the bottom would be further up my leg, and therefore tighter, which could be the situation with you.

Lovely combination. I've had the sugar eye for citron and cognac since Angie posted it a while ago... I'd say mix and match with the accessories. I think the cognac clutch and boots work well, but if I was wearing the black boots, I might reach for the citron. Either way, it's all good.
