FYI: faux-tiered striped dresses at Target (B44-ish)

I'm definitely not keeping the green one (too herve leger for me), and I'm probably not keeping the navy/white one, but I thought you guys would want to know, since they're only $20. Also in coral white and charcoal/black. The navy and coral versions are cotton/spandex, while the other two are poly/rayon. In the juniors section, and I have Ms on in the pics.

Any opinions on #1? I'm leaning toward return 'cuz it seems too skimpy for casual dress and too casual for going out. I do sometimes wear shorter dresses in summer, but something about this is different.

IDK what herve leger is, but I think the first one looks really nice. What do the shoulders look like? Cap sleeves? Sleeveless? I likey.

I love #1 on you! If you're worried about it being too skimpy or too va va voom, you could always add a cropped jacket or cardi. In fact with a jacket in the right color and a scarf to dress up the neck line, I think it would be perfect.

I like the first one, does it feel too short? If so, could you wear it with leggings?

I had to look up herve leger. The target dress is 60X cheaper!

Wow, the dress in #1 looks like it was made for you! I think it fits really well, although it is definitely bodycon. I like the color of the green, but I like the fit of the navy/white better.

I don't think it's too skimpy for casual going out, but it really would depend on your comfort level.

Rae, I understand what you mean. I have a va va voom dres that's too sexy for a casual environment yet it's too casual for a night out. I've never worn it out of my house, not even once. It's a bodycon in a sort of camouflage green denim. I think it's supposed to look cute and relaxed, just not on my body lol People have told me it looks good on me, but maybe it looks too good for daylight. I love the striped dress on you, really, but I'm afraid you might not be wearing it in the end.

Hm, I was not expecting to have such a positive reaction to the dress. Maybe I'll keep it around longer and see how I feel... I really thought everyone would say short, tight dresses are a no-no!

I actually like the first one on you very much, but if you're modest you're modest. At the end of the day, you won't wear it if it makes you feel uncomfortable in any way.

I agree that #1 might be a keeper - IF you're in the mood for a diff look. You DO have a great shape and youth, and you look fab in this.

Try it with some citron? Do you have a short cardi?

I don't recall seeing you wearing cropped leggings under anything, and this dress is navy whereas leggings as most always black.

I love #1....and it doesn't seem too short to me, but only you know your comfort level. I say keep for those days in summer when you need something fun.

Thanks, everyone, for your super helpful replies. This one has really been a struggle. Hubs could tell you, I really *wanted* it to work.

For the jacket suggestions, I realized that, if it's cool enough to wear a jacket, I have other dresses and shorts that I'd choose first. Thinking about the styling was a great exercise!

As for wearing it as-is, Angie hit a home run in saying that it might not be my style - not much UWP about this dress, is there? And while I *still* tried to figure out an appropriate event for a sexy, casual dress... I came up short. Honestly, I'd have more use for a ball gown. :T

SO... what do we think of hemming it up at the bottom of the last tier and turning it into a tank to wear with shorts?? It actually looks pretty good.
