Funky pants: Keep or toss?

I have these Diesel pants that I love wearing because they are comfy and a little funky:

(please ignore the shoes -- they weren't meant to go with the outfit!)

However, given all that I've been reading about PPL, I'm thinking these ankle-length pants, with drawstring ties at the bottom, would not be YLF-approved.

What do you think?

Can you scrunch them to clam length and tighten the draw string?

Hm, I tried scrunching them up. Now they look kind of like knickers (no, not underpants -- knickerbockers!) -- with the poofy part at the hem. Hmm. I also tried cuffing them, which looks better. Will post pics when I get a chance.

Regarding the shoes -- these are my absolute favorite heels! They are Chie Mihara. Pricey (Chie Miharas typically retail for $300+), but I got them at a great discount on Amazon. They are the most comfortable heels ever; most of Chie Mihara's non-flat shoes are designed with a chunky heel. I have knee problems so I rarely wear heels, but the chunky 3" heel is so stable, and the shoe fits well, that they are really easy to wear.

Probably technically the pants hit at a bad part of your leg. But they are fun and you could wear them every once and a while with a fun top & those fun shoes. Why not? A lot of fashion is how we feel in our clothes. And if you feel good then that will resonate in how you carry yourself.

That's a cute look Maya! I think I would need to have the pants tailored to achieve the look; there's too much fabric if I scrunch it, so it ends up looking poofy at the bottom.

Oh, can't wait to read your post about the cargo capri, Angie! I'm trying to decide whether the pants are worth tailoring. Carissa makes a good point -- how we feel about what we are wearing is reflected in our bearing. So I am conflicted about the pants. I'm testing a new tailor, so maybe I'll see if he has any ideas.

First of all the shoes are divine...I love them. The pants they look comfy, and who know with the right shoes and top may even look cute. I will say though that I have some cargo pants and I rarely wear them, I just don't feel confident in them. I don't think they are very flattering. It comes down to how you feel and yes I need to read Angie's blog next week. Suffice it to say I won't be bying cargos again, I probably won't buy capris either!! Good luck
