Frye-off: Melissa vs. Rogan vs. Veronica!

A quick read on Zappos and I'd vote for the Melissas over the Veronicas. I eliminated the Rogan - I think it's visually too much and the hardware too much like old-time ski boots (but clearly that's just me).
1. 49 highly favorable reviews (Veronica only has two)
2. 15.5 inch shaft (Veronica 16.5!)
3. A couple YLFers have rocked the Melissas (has anyone got the Veronicas?)

ETA: Did I miss your quilted 80%20 boots. . .?

Melissa FTW! I love those. The grommetty things on the Rogan look too "waffle stomper" to me. I don't like the finish on the Veronica. I love the Melissa--sleek, dressy or casual, nice finish.

How tall are your current fave knee boots? The melissas are 15.5, the rogans are 14, and the veronicas are 16.5. For me, 14-16 is a big difference in terms of looks.

Another vote for Melissa. I agree that Rogan looks like a ski boot, and I don't know why but Melissa is more elegant than Veronica. (I love it in brown leather...)

Rogans -- stompy, bikerish
Veronica -- casual, slouchy

(Obviously) the leather for each of these boots is going to be different, so it depends on what effect you are going after.

Strong preference for the Melissa here. But I think the fit of these needs to be so perfect that this has to be the deciding factor. Knowing that you are petite like me, I'd really be curious to see how tall these boots are. Not so fab if they lace up over your knees

16.5" is too high for a shortie. I like the Melissa's, they seem more practical and versatile. you already have mud stomper spat boots (and others if I recall).

I am going to pick the Rogans because they are edgy and also they have the slimmest calf circumference so you can get a nice close fit. I hate loose looking tall boots, that's why you almost never see me in them, I can't find ones to fit my 12.5 inch calves (12.75" on the right leg though!). Also the Rogans are leather lined and have a 1.5 inch heel which is a very perfect height. But you have to be OK with the industrial look and shorter height of the boot.

My two cents: if I were buying new boots I think I would seriously look at the Melissas, but really it depends how they look on you!

RO-GAN! I love those--I've actually contemplated them pretty seriously for myself. But they are a whole lotta look, that's fer sure.
