Oh, I like this woman. She's the one who wrote the book 'Bringing Up Bébé', which made me laugh out loud (My sister-in-law is French, and I started out raising my daughter in California, so I've seen firsthand both the French and the American ways of parenthood) and also question my motives as a parent. In that book, as well as in this article, I agree with most (but not all) of what she says.
Best laugh-out-loud bit: 'There are no soul mates. Not in the traditional sense, at least. In my 20s someone told me that each person has not one but 30 soul mates walking the earth. (“Yes,” said a colleague, when I informed him of this, “and I’m trying to sleep with all of them.”)'
Truest bit: 'Eight hours of continuous, unmedicated sleep is one of life’s great pleasures. Actually, scratch “unmedicated.”'
The bit about wearing black to meet someone in the fashion industry seems like a good idea. Angie's going to disagree with me, and yes, yes, I know it makes our under eye circles look worse -- but black is insouciant.
