First week of June outfits

My outfits for all of last week. Less color in this set as compared to the last one that I posted. No scarves or belts! It was just too hot and humid.

Monday:
This was an offshoot of Tara's challenge to me in the challenge chain. Adapted a little to be a more casual and summer friendly outfit. I subbed the walk shorts for the pants and a white tank for the formal buttondown:

Grey cardi ON, White tank Jones New York, Walk Shorts The Limited, Shoes Aerosoles, Necklace (???)

Tuesday:
This is probably the most colorful outfit of the week. I'm trying to cull my closet to pinpoint the real orphans. I buttoned the cardi at the waist a little later in the day though by the end I had removed the cardi altogether. It was a HOT day!

Cardi H&M, Tank ATF, Demin skirt ON, Necklace (??), Watch DKNY, Shoes Aerosoles

Wednesday:
I've been itching to wear this jacket since the day I bought it, but the sleeves are a tad bit long. I haven't gotten around to dropping them off at the tailor yet so I just folded them up to 3/4 length. Thank goodness it is linen, coz it was HOT! I felt great in this outfit! Does it look as good as it feels?

Jacket Kenneth Cole, Wrap top Mossimo Target, Jeans ON, Shoes Naturalizer, Random long necklaces, Watch DKNY

Thursday:
Another hot day brought out a a top I wear less and less often. It has the dreaded cap sleeves which I've never liked, I wonder why I even bought it. I think it might have been the neckline. It is super comfortable though.

The top has a few fun details you can't tell in the above picture - ruching at the waist, lace along buttons:

Top (???), Faux Denim Skirt Kenneth Cole, Shoes Me Too Nadia, Earrings from India

Friday:
Another hot day prompted me to try the voluminous top (was the subject of my very first post here) with my not-so-great cropped denim turned to clams. I'm still on th fence on this top. The waistcoat I have doesn't work well with this top and I'm planning on getting another style of vest anyways, so I'll give it a go with the vest then. A belt definitely won't work.

Very Voluminous top AE (TJ Maxx), Clams/cropped denim Charlotte Russe, Necklace from India, Cami Esprit, Shoes Kenneth Cole Reaction, Bracelet from India

Saturday:
I've been waiting to bring this top out of the closet ever since them temps rose. It's something I stole from my sister in India. The bag is a gift from her. So are the shoes. Does any of this qualify as boho?

I still haven't found my groove but I want to keep experimenting till I do.
I not only greatly appreciate, but also love all your feedback. Thanks!!!

Niva,

You look super every day, but my favorites are...everything and anything you did with your deim skirt....That skirt really works for you!!:)

Thank you taylor!! I love the versatility of that skirt. It is really helping me make use of some of the shorter tops in my wardrobe. And it beats jeans anyday in the heat.

That grey Kenneth Cole jacket is perfect on you. Yes! It does looks as good as it feels. And I agree with Taylor- the denim skirt is great.

Great outfits.. I agree with the girls! You have such a nice figure for skirts! They look lovely on you!

What do you mean you haven't found your groove yet? I saw a confident, stylish woman in those pictures. I love the Indian cultural pieces and colors, ofcourse they are beautiful on you. The bag, shoes and earrings are absolutely stunning, and the top you lovingly "stole" from you sister too. These with the denim skirt are perfect, beautiful and interesting.
The top that you are unsure of really needs to be reeled in with a vest or cardigan. I don't know if it is long enough for a hip slung belt. It seems boxy as it is. I know you said you are trying to figure out how to wear that blouse.
Other than that piece I thought you had it together for the week. You're looking lovely and stylish. Just keep doing what you are doing. The blue top with the white cardigan are so refreshing like a cool drink of water. The grey jacket, very edgy.

What a great week, Vani! Lots of groove on my screen :0)

I love how you’re bringing a global Indian flavour into your style. Very fab.

KILLER grey military jacket! (I have a weakness for all styles utilitarian and military which doesn’t really make sense because I’m so girly, but I guess I love it’s strict structure). Wonderful grey cardi too. I like your neutral mood. I go through those as well. You look fab, darling!

Niva -- you have a lot of great looks going on! My favs are Wednesday (that jacket is so awesome on you) and Saturday (great mix of Eastern and Western elements -- I suppose you could call the kurti boho :) )

Great to see you posting outfit pics niva!!!! I really love the walk shorts paired with the strappy sandals. And the Kenneth COle jacket too - delightful. Your hair is also so beautiful and lustrous looking!!!!

GREAT week! I especially love the military jacket (the necklaces really pull it together too), the cap sleeve top, and Saturday's lovely Indian top -- the crisp blue and white is SO summer!

The bottoms all look terrific too, but I can't take my eyes off the great tops long enough to judge them individually. *g*

sinead & rute -thanks! Angie, you'll be glad to hear this, I can't get enough of the pencil skirt! I still love my jeans but the skirt is so versatile, I can't believe I hesitated this long.

san, you're such a dear :-) I guess what I mean is, I still spend 15 minutes in my closet trying to put together an outfit and sometimes I'm not sure of an outfit till I get feedback from here. I remember Ana mentioning in one of the older posts that it was a lot of hard work and patience to get to the place she is, so confident and stylish. I'm still taking baby steps, gingerly trying on new combinations, seeking out new colors and styles. It doesn't help that I am at my highest weight in years and am a little reluctant to buy any more new items. On the contrary I am more confident than I have ever been and hence the dilemma. Anyways, sorry for the venting :-)

Angie, I LOVE the jacket too. I did have a minor flask back to Janet Jackson, but she did always don her military jackets with panache. This is one of the days where I'm in the mood for something edgy :-)

Tam - thanks! Posting outfits here makes me accountable to all of you and that is my biggest motivation! I now covet the perfect purple jacket :-D

Kristen, I'm glad you like the cap sleeve top. I am always so unsure about it.
