First of all, hello all! I've been on board for a month now, and contributing through comments in a fast and furious manner. Having a ton of fun, and cannot get over how supportive, positive, and valuable this site is. I'm only sorry I didn't discover it sooner. Just a little bit about me to introduce myself, and then a quick pic of my first YLF buy (and an on-line on at that!).

I'm 53, and have both an undergrad and a graduate degree in Clothing & Textiles/Fashion, and worked in the industry for many years as a buyer, and then in sales management at the wholesale level. I come about my interest and love for fashion honestly , as they say I am most interested in the business of fashion, in marketing and retail, and the workings of the high-end labels and designers in couture. I currently work in sales and manage my own agency in publishing and giftware but still love fashion. The problem is ...I have found myself getting lazy about it over the past few years - losing my attention to detail , buying clothes as therapy and without a plan , and hiding a body I have often have issues with. I hope my experience on YLF will help me work through some of these crazy first-world problems

I never buy on-line, for starters it keeps the spending under control, but found these Converse cheaper on-line than in-store so clicked away. This was such a step out into left --field for me: eyelet , no way; Converse themselves, no way: wedge runners: NO WAY; but.....are these not the cutest, most flattering little pieces of summer footwear ever? They just arrived, so I ripped the box open, tried them on (attempting to hide the laces) and am so thrilled! I couldn't take a full-on selfie (I'm wearing 7FAM trouser denim shorts that are way too big, a Joie tshirt that is longer than my shorts, and haven't put on any lipstick yet today) - I'm not introducing myself to you all in this condition!

Anyways, thanks to anyone reading this long post, and thanks Angie, Suz, et al for bringing my attention to footwear I would never have considered before. I cannot wait to wear them out in public!! I've also picked up the VC tube skirt in black, a gorgeous black lace bomber from Club Monaco, and some new black booties. Looking forward to adding more YLF finds into the closet.
