In my quest to find tops I can wear without a layer, I recently added this cute AT blouse - which I imagine will be perfect for our HK trip next month!

I fell in love with this blouse instantly because it reminds me of the Van Gogh painting Starry Night. Can you see it?

I had my eye on this jacket last fall, but it was too pricey. Then when I found it for about $35 on clearance, I couldn't resist!

I have wanted a BF blazer since the trend hit last year. But I had my doubts today... kept wondering if I should really be wearing this at my age .... the silhouette of this outfit really reminds me of what I wore in college!

What do you think?? Can I pull it off?

P.s. To Chewy... this blouse is the perfect tummy disguise.. you can't see it so much in the angle of this pic, but it angles in ever so slightly at the waist, so I still have a figure and it's not completely boxy. Yet loose and forgiving over the tum!

I do see the Starry Night! I think the boydfriend jacket works- it doesn't look too young. I think it's just because you remember wearing it when you were young that it feels young to you. I need a top like that, but with sleeves! Dh is working late and throwing my gym schedule off tonight, so I may swing by Kohl's to see if they have anything.

You know, Chewy, I've given up on sleeves. I find that a sleeveless top is the most versatile. Just wear a cami plus sweater or blazer in the cooler months. I do have long sleeve tops but I really don't wear them anywhere near as often. And yep it gets super cold here. (Then again, you know I run warm! So YMMV!)

Last winter, I was often in corduorey pants, long john top and bottom, a wool sweater and a coat and hat- in the house! Sometimes I was still cold. LOL

That's fabulous! I like that boyfriend blazer on you because it's not super-long, it's very proportional; it will be in style long after the fab passes.

The top is divine! Good for you for finding new styles of tops; this really works for you.

You look fantastic! I love the blouse (especially the neckline) and the jacket looks perfect for you. I may have to swing by AT today.
And I love the Starry Night reference. Most couples have their songs, but we have our painting, and that's it. Our living room and kitchen were designed around that painting, and we have since added the other two "star series" paintings to that great room area of our house.

That's so funny Angie... I have lots of blouses that are voluminous like this - I just like to wear them with a cardi or blazer that nips them in at the waist!

Sarah - definitely get over to AT. I am really loving their stuff this fall. They've taken things up a notch, I think. I went crazy there recently - three tops, two slacks, a pencil skirt and a scarf - and I could have done worse damage than that! There was just too much to love. It's *almost* as if AT has been following YLF!

I was particularly surprised to find their pants and skirts fit me well - that was never the case in the past; they'd be too baggy in the hips. They've redone everything so if you haven't been in there in awhile, try everything on and don't assume.

Shiny, I love that blazer on you and I think it looks so much better than what we wore in the 80's. Not as boxy and long. What a great find- I can imagine this being so versatile.

Jean, those are the UO jeans. They are super skinny but have a lot of stretch in them and are very comfy with a 10 inch rise!

BDG High-Rise Cigarette jeans.... I see they now offer them in a range of colors. I may have to scoop up some in black or maybe gray... hmmmmm.....

P.s. Jean, if you get them, be warned that you will need to shrink them in the dryer. The pair I got seemed a little too big, but they shrunk about a size. Not so much width wise, but lengthwise. Once you get all the shrink out of them, they will stretch a bit with wear, but not a horrible amount. (No baggy butt or saggy knee syndrome). I do run them through the dryer with every wash anyway - they are my only jeans I put in the dryer!

Also I think Maya tried these and had trouble getting them over her foot or calf? I can't remember now. But just warning that they are SUPER skinny in the calves. Really, they are like wearing leggings - jeggings?
