As you can see, i love cardigans and I know a lot of this is not fitting quite right (i don't have the lady wide hips). The belt is wrong too. Any advice on essential wardrobe items, pieces that work all times of day and occasions, makeup, accessories and shoes, dressing for yourself vs dressing for the opposite sex. Anything you can think of. Thanks. <3

You hit very flattering proportions in #2 (one part light to two parts dark; search the web for more) and a nice play between naughty and demure between #1 and 2. The demure print dress plays with the same ratio --the belt, as you note-- breaks it up. The dress' empire waist (or any bust detail, for that matter) draws the viewer's eye up from the hip. Another trick is a single cardigan button fastened below the bust (consider: too conservative?). How about the print dress (no belt) with the leather jacket, both partially open and closed.

I can't quite tell from your blog photos, but I have a hunch you might want to showcase those legs (legs!). That may make shopping a challenge: hems seem to be trending down and down.

"All times of day and occasions"? For me that's denim, so I'm no help. I also don't buy into the concept of universal essentials ("Ten items no wardrobe should be without!!!"); for example, I own a tuxedo instead of a little black dress. "Dressing for yourself"? Yeah, working on it.

Cerinda. Thank You so much for your reply. It was thoughtful and knowledgable.
I must say you flattered me more than I think i deserve. The dress was so formless that all I could think of was to wrap a belt round from the leather jacket and I think it didn't turn out very good.
I may just invest in a new dress in a new style; skater? A line? I may go all out and go leather pencil skirt and fastened cardigan for a smart chic look. There's that cardigan word again. I'm strangely drawn to them and find them so feminine. If you google image Jackie Cardigan, every outfit seems to be so femme and the kind of look I want. Then there's the biker chick in me.
The midriff fastening is a great tip and may look better with a longer garment fastened. And neck fastening is totally good by me. Maybe even over the shoulders?
I blush at the idea of showing off my legs but definitely am a fan of a mid length skirt rather than too long or too short. It's surprising how naked one feels when trying the mini for the first time after being only an observer for so long.

Love your cardigans. They'd make for a great signature item. The green is good with the dress - a good, matching weight. Summery. The leather jacket is a little heavy for the dress maybe.

Re. dressing for others - that's a subject all right. I think it depends so much on their tribe. Like, I know a lot of men who don't want to talk to a girl in heels - that sounds so contrary to conventional wisdom, right? But they don't want to be slowed down or deal with someone who's going to be fussing all the time...

Thanks so much Rachylou. The swing cardigan (the chunky knit) was so adorable on the model I just had to try it. It might work better with some high waisted pants? And a statement necklace (I'm thinking chunky beads).
I love your use of the word 'tribe'. I wish I had a tribe or type in mind that I could tell you I was aiming for. Although I know for certain I will be wearing heels a lot and admit that I have found myself fussing more the deeper into my feminine journey I have gone x
