You eBay veterans will probably get a good smile out of my newbieness, bear with me! I'm so excited because I sold 2 items at the "buy it now" price, within hours of posting them last evening! I'm not very eBay experienced, so my guess is that I likely under-priced them, but they would have otherwise been donated, so woo hoo!

I've never successfully bid and won. Lately I've attempted twice to buy the same pair of Sam Edelman Petty boots and lost in the last minute (did not fit the first buyer, and then she raised the price to sell them....it's sort of a racket, right?!)

Our 16 year old son has been dabbling with eBay, selling some old video games, cell phones etc...We were dubious at first but it's all good, we monitor him and he's getting very good ratings as a seller. I love (love love love) getting rid of "stuff". So, I made him a deal - 20% commission on anything he sells for me.

I sold a pair of Via Spiga wedges (listed them on YLF a few months ago a lower price, no takers) for $70. I bought them at Rack and I don't think I paid that much, but they are currently $195 at Nordies. They were like new. I also sold a pair of Gap Sexy Boyfriends for $20, and again - I think I got them on a sale that had them close to that. I have 2 other pairs of BF's and these didn't fit me well . So, I feel great about this! Suddenly I want to absolutely clear my closet!

I've always donated my things, mainly to the really sweet woman who is our monthly housekeeper. She is about my size and I know she shares things that don't fit her with others who could use them. I also give my nicer things to my sister, but lately she hasn't wanted some of the things I've sent to her and I bet I could have sold them.

In my YLF life I am building a much higher end closet, and I've bought things in my journey that are not working for where I am right now, so it's nice to be able to recoup some of the investment.

I'd love to hear advice from the eBay vets.
