Finding the items you need at the right price

Favourite Canadian stores?

I know there are at least a handful of other Canadians on this forum, and maybe a few Americans who visit Canada from time to time. What are your favourite places to shop in Canada?

One of my favourite Canadian-only chains is Winners: http://www.winners.ca/en/index.asp It takes some patience to shop there but I usually find amazing deals.

Your turn!

I love Canadian shopping, although the exchange rate is no where near what it was several years ago. The great deals in addition to great styles are not around. I've shopped mostly in Vancouver, Britsh Columbia. Angie posted her list of recommended shopping spots. http://youlookfab.com/2006/10/.....or-ladies/

My favorites are: Le Chateau, Jacob, Dynamite (for tops). I also like Danier for leather jackets.

My fave Canadian store is Reitmans. Not super high quality, but their pants almost always fit me without gapping at the waist. And, their prices fit my budget. The styles usually are in line with my style as well.

I just checked Angie's list, and unfortunately only 2 are in my small city - Aldo (acutally, I'm not sure on this one) and Le Chateau. Le Chateau IS a great store - I've found cute things there in the past.

I live in the US but was born and raised in Canada and go back often to see my family. Thankfully the one Jacob in the US is located near me, but I do miss Dynamite and RW&Co.

I also like a store called Aritzia. Loads of great shopping in Canada. For blokes too. Your department stores and Euro stores rock.

Ooh I will be bookmarking this thread for future reference thanks ladies! One of my Canadian cousins is getting married next year and I'm hoping to make it up there for the wedding!!

I love Jacob and RW&Co too. And the Aldo Outlet (I think the regular ones are overpriced for what you get, but that's just me).

What is Dynamite?

Oh, and of course we must include the good old Bay. The one in Pacific Centre in Vancouver has a lot of fun brands (Mexx, Kensie, Chulo Pony, etc.) and the top womenswear floor always has crazy clearance racks on one corner.

I've always avoided Aritizia--something about the atmosphere makes me twitchy--but maybe I should give it another go.

Roots is nice for loungewear if you have the budget for it.

Are La Senze and La Vie en Rose Canadian? I think they might be.
