I have had extra time to look at fashion week this month as it has coincided with many holidays and days off.

Did anyone notice these shoes look a tiny bit like the Okalas Angie led us too?

For clothing as art, my favorite so far was Commes des Garcons

For clothing as clothing I am torn between overstated and understated. (Prada and Hermes - to take the obvious.)

I have noticed a lot of soft ankle strap shoes (like in the Dior picture below), longer jackets, big earrings, patterned stocking (Maison Margiela also showed big fishnets), some square toes but lots of pointy and a lot of a little bit of everything.

For those of you fellow fashion week dabblers, I would love to know your thoughts, observations and favorites while we wait patiently for Angie's summary.

Noticed that the skirt suit is back, though still at the stage of being mocked or deconstructed/mismatched. I just bought a tweed chanel type one the other day but wearing it as separates for now.

I'm not that much of a jeans gal and I just got rid of a black replacement pair I thought I needed. First time I wore it, it made everything else seem wrong. Then I read this article and found I agreed with it. Mentions Kanye West's clothes if you like a runway tie in.

I see the Oakla resemblance with those shoes and love my EF shoes with soft ankle straps. I didn't get a chance to see the fashion week coverage but also look forward to Angie's thoughts, especially what we can look for in the spring.

I love that ankle strap shoes are still around. I got a pair in May and was worried, how much longer will this look be relevant. The SA thought this style would last because ankle strap shoes work for so many people (agree -- they stay on our feet!).

I confess I haven't looked at many of the shows yet. But I've been perusing the street style pictures and noticed the return of the "petite scarf" or bandana neck kerchief or stewardess scarf. It goes with a certain type of 70s style.

hey, you're early, Paris has not ended yet

So far I've noticed the 90s revival (lingerie as clothes, in particular) and the 70s revival - I lived through the first 70s revival in the 90s so all the 70s stuff didn't look new or interesting to me.

Conceptual fashion : I liked Thom Browne (saw it as mix of 20s and Asian fashions), Jacquemus (the woolball dresses were so cute) and Junya Watanabe (I usually do - I find his work more positive and poetic than Rei Kawakubo's - who just scares me off

What I'd wear if I were rich and looked different : Maison Rabih Kayrouz.

Fun! One thing that really stood out to me is that there were sooooo many bare shoulder and off-the-shoulder tops (not the most versatile look for Belgium:-)! Also lots of big, romantic sleeves and plenty of flat footwear and low heels (hurrah!).

The Margiela collection is interesting. I was very disappointed with Galliano's last outing there, but he seems to have found a groove with this one. Seems much more true to the Maison's artisanal spirit. Thanks for sharing!

Rachy. Until a few years ago I did not even know there was such a thing as fashion week.
Skylurker, fascinating! Especially that your secret self is wearing Maison Rabih Kayrouz.
Inge, I never really understood how non-models could wear the bare shoulder tops whatever the weather.
A/L I liked the Margiela show too, which reminds me I noticed a lot of cords as belts.
