Fashion sneaker stand in? Help please.

I love the sneakers that are out now that have the old school vibe (examples in links). Is fashion sneakers the correct term? I hope to pay much less than the going rate of around $80 though.
Today I happened to see the Skechers pictured (last link) and was wondering if I could pull them off in the same way. If not, are there other less expensive stand-ins anyone could recommend?

Of course the Skechers work! There's no need to spend lots of money, especially when you're first trying out a trend. Go for it, and let's see some "WIW with my sneakers" posts!

I agree with carter. I think you can work these sneakers into an ensemble effortlessly. I'd try to add a bit of that coral/red color somewhere else in your look. Maybe your bag or a skinny belt or a scarf? That will make it look like your sneakers are participating in your look & you aren't just wearing them until you get where you're going.

I saw a young girl today wearing some Champion sneaks - gray with chartreuse, and then she was wearing a down sweater in the same chartreuse. I thought she looked fantastically stylish. I think it was because she picked up the minor color in the sneaks & used it in a big way in the rest of her look.

Check out Puma brand. they make the vintage type -and on Nordstroms Rack site they are around $40.00.

Scetchers are great but I have not tried them in the mesh. I bought some Reeboks in the light weight cloth and am not really happy with them as they are not holding their shape. Have had Puma in the past and next time I am looking for another pair of sneakers I am going to try them again. they hold up very well and I am very hard on mine.

JG, those sketchers will definitely work….but if you want other options at around the same price, i suggest trying DSW, i found these 2 on their website, and you maybe able to find others in store.

Thank you for the encouragement and suggestions everybody! I had a couple pairs held in my size at another store but they turned out to be in the wrong colors. The sale is over now but I am still on the lookout. It's nice to know there are similar styles also available at lower price points - and now I have other ideas of where to look! I also will keep color matching in mind. Thanks again!
