LOL! We are all outing ourselves with the Retin-A. I use Retin-A too. Having wrinkles and breakouts at the same time (which I did) is the worst! And I have sensitive, easily irritated skin. Delicate flower skin. I did have to do some very serious, very slow ramping up on the Retin-A and I only use the lowest dose. It isn't something to jump into lightly.
How about a baby step instead of a huge leap? You might try a good retinol product first instead of Retin-A. If you can't tolerate retinol, you won't be able to use Retin-A very easily. And I say that as a die-hard Retin-A lover. FWIW, I find the Paula's Choice products shockingly good and affordable. I'm usually a complete prestige cosmetics devotee and when I tried Paula's Choice products on a "oh what the heck" lark, I was shocked by how much I loved them. So, that might be a good place to start. I use the Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Retinol. (Yup. You read it right. I double down with the retinoids.)
FWIW, for eye cream, since that's what you specifically asked about, I use Aveda's eye cream. It is reasonably affordable, reasonably luxurious, it smells decent, and it doesn't burn my sensitive sensitive skin. (The sensitive sensitive skin that I subject to Retin-A.) Honestly, though, I'm not sold on eye creams as a concept. Eye creams can only hydrate what is there and maybe deposit some retinol. They aren't going to work any better than a good sensitive skin lotion or cream that works for the rest of your face. Plus you don't want them to be too rich or they will cause clogged pores and milia.
