OOoooo Kari, you had a FAB month so far. Your new red hair looks fantastic. It really looks amazing with that cobalt blue. My favorite is the one with the skinnies, boots, and yellow crossbody (sidenote: I am really jealous of you if you are able to wear boots in July).

Bastille Day sounds delicious. I spent Bastille day in France 4 years ago and it was probably one of the best days of my life. I think everything has been downhill from that point on...

It's really hard to comment on everything since I am just going to keep repeating myself (you look great, you look awesome, you look incredible, etc. etc.) so I'll stop here...

BUT, since I am on a specs kick...OMG I love those frames. Brown and blue is such a GREAT combination. They look fantastic! If I find something even half as fab I'll be happy.

Thanks, Maya. My hair is really only that vibrant for the first week and a half after dying it - it fades to a slightly lighter shade of brownish red - but it's really fun while it lasts!

Yes, I feel kind of funny breaking out boots in mid-summer, but it suddenly went from super-warm on Saturday to very chilly and rainy again on Sunday, and the boots and multiple layers kept me *just* warm enough to go without a jacket.

I really hope that you find awesome specs that (most importantly) fit your face and make you feel great. That is too bad that glasses shopping has been so tricky so far. Glasses shopping used to drive me crazy because my temples are often too wide for most frames, but I never realized there were so many "petite sized" faces that have an even harder time finding glasses in mainstream shops. I hope you'll continue to show us pictures so you can find some that truly make you feel fab.

Good grief! A KILLER pair of specs. Every line is 100% flattering. The colours are perfect. The shape opens up your face and lifts your cheek bones. No droop! Where did you get them, Kari?

Wooohoo! Thanks a bunch, Angie. I had about the same reaction when I saw them (though I waited a few days to make sure they were perfect before I finally took them home.) Burgundy and turquoise is just about my favorite color combination. I've been wearing my turquoise necklace a LOT since I got the new specs. ;)

I really saw what you meant about "cheek droop" when I compared the pictures I had taken of different potential frames. There were some frames with straighter edges or heavier in the outer corners, and they just made my face look wide in the wrong spot instead of highlighting my eyes and cheekbones.

Oh they're BURGUNDY and teal? That makes them even better. Truly a killer pair.

I have to stick up for Seattle weather! This is the BEST Spring and Summer we have EVER had. It has been in the 80’s most days. Last year we had the fire on in July. But not this year!

Maya, these specs are too wide for sure, but the price point exists, so it can be done. Can you get yourself off to lenscrafters? You could buy the frames (from anywhere) and have the lenses put in where your Mum works.

Angie, LensCrafters was one of the places I went to that fateful day. I went to LC, PearleVision, and Costco Optical (which had so many fantastic brands and styles at unbelievable price points). But nearly every single pair was too big. I won't say NOTHING fit, but the precious few that fit had other issues (too dark, too heavy, cheek droop, etc).

I have two more places in mind that I will check out on Saturday (after my eye appt.). I'm not holding out much hope since they are both very high end and expensive, but I lose nothing by trying. Most likely, I will either end up with one of the pairs I tried at mom's office (pending YLF approval), or I will just hold off until my budget is less restrictive. I'll know more at the end of the week.

Kari - so many fabulous looks, it's hard to pick a favorite. I agree with Angie - you were made to wear dresses! Plus your coloring is so well suited to all these gorgeous jewel tones you are sporting (I am dreading when the fashion pendulum swings back to pastels). I love your "red, white & blue" July 4th outfit as well as your Bastille Day look.

Rute, I think you and I have similar body types and I may just end up copying some of what you're wearing - particularly your cute Portuguese style outfit that you just posted.

I own a couple things with square necklines (this dress, this top, and the bright green dress that Angie liked, though I need to wear camis under it so it kind of spoils the square neckline.

Angie and Shana, I really am loving dresses and skirts more and more. Actually, it's making me re-think my fall/winter wardrobe priorities a bit. I'd still love a nice pair of wool trousers and one nice pair of jeans if I can find some, but I may wait on that if it's too hard, and focus instead on finding an additional pair of inexpensive boots to allow me to wear dresses in colder weather more often. Thank you for the encouragement to keep wearing them!

okay, one, new specs are soooooo killer. TO DIE FOR. i die. seriously.

two, cobalt is such a delicious color for you. it brings out the creaminess of your skin like whoa.

three, i am loving the faux wrap dress and the green dress. total hotness. only fitting that you had a marilyn moment, since you looked movie star perfect in it! although flashing your knickers is not a movie star move you necessarily want to emulate (very britney circa 2007), so i understand wanting a slip ;)

(I still agonize too much over what I should wear each morning, but bit by bit with practice, it *is* getting a little bit easier figuring out what "goes" with what, so maybe someday getting dressed will be effortless.)

Kari - I'm late to the thread, but I wanted to comment on how great you look! The glasses are gorgeous.

I also think that you are just ROCKING the tailored vest look. This series has 4 different vest outfits, and I like them all. I might have to copy you.
