I just bought these shoes at the sale. I got the black because I have nude platforms. I like them and know that they are not everyone's cup of tea, they fit except are a bit loose around the ankles. Does that matter so much?

I guess my yay or nay is what you think of the shoes. I may post fit after I size down but because of my wide feet sizing down may not work. I want a pair of statement shoes and the wedge makes these comfortable.

I just added me wearing them. The ankles are a bit loose but if they did not have some room I do not know if they would be as comfortable walking.??

Lovely, I think TXSarah may have recently bought the same ones. I would have thought a good ankle fit was important, but I've never worn cage shoes.....but I am voting YAY for the style!

I love the style in nude, but it seems like the black could be harsh. I would have to see it on. On the other hand you have long legs, and I am sure you know what you are doing when it comes to color, so I look forward to seeing how you work it.

One part drama, one part ballerina. I know you like to wear black so have no issue with the colour. Do they feel heavy? If the fit is right I think they will be great on you.

Jean, they look very "you". I can imagine all kinds of different ways that you would wear them.

Edited to add: just saw the photos you added. I think the look fierce, a definite yes.

I vote yay! Those are awesome. I have no idea about the ankle question, so I guess I reserve the right to change my vote upon seeing them on you. I think you'll find plenty of ways to wear the black.

Saw them with the photo of you wearing them. I see what you mean about the ankle fit, but it doesn't seem like something that would be obvious to anyone but you. If the looseness doesn't make them difficult to walk in, I say yay!

I like the way they fit. No problems at the ankle at all. They are still a tailored fit on the foot. Is your preference for black and not one of the earthier tones?

Angie- I have 2 pairs of nude sandals, one is a platform and I think I can wear black because I have skinny ankles.

I have no black edgy summer shoes. The brown is too dark-if it was a cognac and not too light I might consider. They do not serve the same purpose as a nude- I want them to be dramatic. Does that make sense?

These look good to me. I would wear around the house first though, in other brands I've had some coworkers get blisters from the back zipper rubbing on the heel. Just check these do not do this before venturing outside.

I love these on you, Jean! I second wearing them around the house a bit to make sure that they aren't too loose and that you feel stable in them. A killer pair of black shoes always comes in handy.

I have them in the Desert color and we've had such cold, wet weather that I've not been able to wear them yet

I dithered between choosing an 8 or 8.5 because the ankle straps were nicely fitted in the smaller size, but I liked the bit of room in the 8.5. After questioning the SA and she asking two more SAs, no one felt the looser ankle was less desirable. I think I'll appreciate that bit of room on hot summer days -- if we ever get them!

The ankle space doesn't look that noticeable to me, and will probably actually be quite comfortable when it gets really hot. They look awesome. Definitely keep.

That will allow me to get a pair of black summer sandals too, we both wear earth colors. I'ts good to have choices, and black sometimes breakes up or adds some drama to all that earthness, I love this pair, really!!!

I love them. It looks like you have a little room in the ankle, but not too much.

I've tried on a couple of shoes like these that had ankle straps that were definitely too roomy, so I usually have to look for pairs with adjustable ankle straps or a lower vamp. Depends on the brand.

Jean, I love these on you. I have these also and I went down 1/2 size. Mine are somewhat loose also in the ankles, but I have worn them quite a bit and find them to be extremely comfortable.
