The starting gun for Summer is just being lifted in the air, but I'm ready to finish with the cool polish of a winner! (Sorry couldn't resist the Indy 500 reference).

I like transitional dressing best, and, with Midwestern Arctic Conditioning, my favorite pieces stretch to all but hottest days and outside events. Still, I'm always looking to refresh my "melt proof" capsule!

1. This Summer, I'm doing a lot of daily exercise, and want to dress, when I'm at home, in a way that invites extra movement. To that end, I've added some woven Athleisure pants. The newest, and most polished, are these from Champion (Target). They have nice seaming, and a ribbed inset panel on the inner thigh to keep things cool and sleek. I like these better on me than the model -- they suit a curvy figure (and are more relaxed than appears in my photo). If you're an apple or have slim hips, you might want to size down. These have enough polish to run errands and survive long car trips -- just toss on a tee and a denim jacket. I wore this to a wet and humid track meet. (Hence the Crocs on my feet)

2. Apt 9 Dress from Kohls. Knit dresses are usually too short and/or clingy. This one -- in a baby blue and lapis blue stripe, Will be awesome for hottest days. It looks good under a denim jacket or little sweater, too. I don't feel super slim in this, but I love the way it feels!

3. (In the Finds) To go with my Athleisure capsule bottoms, I purchased these two new tees from Macy's (Alfani). These are awesome, and come in many more colors and patterns. I sized down, but still have a bit of swing and drape in the torso. The knit is lovely. I usually hate short sleeves, but the angle on these is better than most. On sale this weekend!
